Not sure why the picture isn’t showing but the crowd is sparse to say the least
Auburn up 13-2 early on Dook.
Took me to halftime to realize Kadin is still playing for Texas. 35 yrs old and still moves like a baby giraffe
Mississippi State blowing out Pitt, Vanderbilt up on VT at half, Texas up on NCST at half.
Yeah, maybe the SEC rolling around in giant piles of money for several years is paying off for them. Weird.
There needs to be a reckoning with the ACC - this challenge has been an unmitigated embarrassment for our total dumpster pile of shit on fire of a conference. Trash. Totally unserious clown show of a conference.
Put me in the UVA to B1G camp over SEC. Get us away from ESPN and give me more CBS/B1G/NBC broadcast without Jay Bilas
Is that Mississippi State Pitt score real? 56-26 in the 2nd half?
Watching Kadin Shedrick still playing in year 6 is so weird. I’m glad the extra year nonsense is finally over this year, for the most part anyway. I can’t imagine most players in that position are whole heartedly in it…it’s just a bigger payday than going overseas.
Shedrick block seals it for Texas against State, 20 miles from his hometown. SEC is 14-1 right now with only Duke-Auburn left to finish (Devils with a 5 point lead, 4 minutes to go).
Add: Duke holds on to win (dear Lord the number of referee reviews down the stretch), ACC loses the Challenge by an absurd 2-14.
What a disaster for the ACC and almost guarantees it will be at most a 5 bid league.
I am not sure why it seems to be the case moreso for the ACC then the other leagues, but all these teams seem to take a while to gel all the newcomers with returners and freshman. If the ACC really wanted to improve the leagues at-large chances, schedule this challenge for late Jan/early Feb when the teams are going to be playing much better. The SEC used to do that with the Big 12 i think it was, so the SEC has shown a willingness to do that.
The ACC will be quite fortunate to get even 5. Duke UNC Clemson and I guess Pitt and who else?
Heel fans aren’t convinced they are getting in
I’m torn because we align better with the B1G on basically every aspect and I think it would be better for us (we should actually be able to compete against the bottom of their conference in football), but my girlfriend and her family have ties to like half the SEC and I want the excuse for more football and basketball game trips to SEC towns. The B1G college towns aren’t super high on my list to travel to.
My guess is someone emerges from the muck with limited bad losses and picks up some road wins in league play to get enough on their resume to be last 4 in. Probably from group that includes, Louisville, NC State, UVA, WF, SMU. Maybe Cuse or ND if they can get hot.
How well we align to the SEC vs the B1G depends which non-rev / Olympic sports you value more.
Some decent news on Markus Burton. He has an MCL thing but does not need surgery, which I think means there is a decent chance he will be back this season. We play them Jan 25
BC battling at Wake, close game late in the first.
Forbes getting the can after this season? I could see it
Jalil Bethea
Good thing Miami’s fanbase is broadly indifferent to their team, because most fanbases would be currently engaged in self-immolation if they (finally) got a 5-star, lottery pick type of recruit and the coach gave him the shortest leash known to man.
