Donāt think his shot creation ability is anywhere near Jacariās tbhā¦
Maybe the ACC needs the C-USA schedule gimmick from a while ago where they take the last 5-6 games to have the top teams that season play each other to juice their bid potential.
After a decent start to the year, FSU has entered Pitt/GT/BC territory
ACC Tiers
National title contender: Duke
Top four seed potential: Louisville, healthy UNC
Tournament teams: Virginia, Clemson, NC State (I think still?), Miami
Bubble In: Wake, SMU
Bubble Out: VT, Notre Dame
Long shot: Cuse, Cal, Stanford
No shot: Pitt, FSU, Bc, GT
I guess doubling up on NC State and missing Clemson is probably a neutral impact (assuming we wouldāve had the H&H with VT under any schedule format).
I think we matchup better against Clemson. Pretty confident we would smoke them.
NC State will put a lot of pressure on our guards.
Ahem
Our resume might make it tough. Even if we have a really good season, our resume may not stack up well enough to get a top 4 seed. Feels like 5-7 is more likely at the moment.
Yea our OOC was worse than the rest of the ACC top five to begin with and then Texas, Ohio State, and especially Maryland have all not looked like the fringe top 25 teams they were supposed to preseason. Plus we have both Duke and Louisville on the road, so a big signature win is unlikely. Might have to go like 14-4 or 15-3 in the league to feel good about a top four seed.
Four seed Arizona had 6 Q1A wins last year, weāll only have three chances at Q1A wins
Right now, I would move NC State into the bubble tier. They squandered every opportunity in their noncon. They will have to be really good in conference play, I think, to firmly be in the at-large tier. But, there are some good opportunities for them if they figure it out.
I listened to one of their podcasts and they think they are going to roll through their first two conference games, which are at home: Wake and us. I think they are making a mistake considering Wake an easy win.
They think theyāre going to roll us??
We watching the same teams?
Torvik has them as 2pt favorites.
I do think that will be a tough matchup for us. Weāve struggled against the press and can get generally TO prone when sped up.
Their guards are also probably better offensively than any guards weāve played thus far.
I donāt think weāll get rolled just because theyāre also abysmal defensively and TO prone and foul happy. But thereās a world I could see it happening.
Iām not saying weāre going to win, I think itāll be a pretty even match up, but easy win for them absolutely not.
Now that Iāve said that weāre gonna lose to Maryland and they will roll us.
Nc State is not good.
NC State matches up well against us in theory with their personnel (their actual defense execution has been piss poor despite their length)
The NC State fans seem to have a far different opinion of their team than Will Wade does.

Actually, I think that Brown does create space for everyone else. It may be just me, but I think that open three point looks are the result of ball movement and paint touches. Brown provides both, but especially the latter.
Agree. Was being sarcastic above
Yup. Thatās what I see, and there is a lot of cope going on amongst their fans.
āI guess UVA might be tough, but the first several games are gimmes. Our losses are good losses. Top 4 in the ACC, and tourney.ā Now, nothing is impossible, but that reaction from Wade is not surprisingly at all.
Also, in the ACC I donāt see where quality minutes come from in the frontcourt. Ven-Allen Lubin has been good for them, but he is undersized at the 5., and he has been playing 39 minutes per game; there is no depth at all.
ACC should be figuring out how to get the best teams / notable teams to play each other twice.
Letās look at the top 5 Kenpom teams: Duke, Louisville, UNC, UVa, and NCSU.
They could / should be playing 8 games against the other 4 top 5 teams. But hereās whatās actually the case:
Duke: 6/8
Louisville: 5/8
UNC: 5/8
UVa: 5/8
NCSU: 5/8
So only Duke plays 2 of the 4 other top 5 teams twice (UNC and Lville).
But they donāt play Miami (#7) at all and we donāt play Clemson (#6) at all. Oy vey.
A typical own goal by the conferenceā¦
Uhhh ya think. We are better than them straight up and are going to torch their porous defense. Iām shocked at how cocky they are given what theyāve looked like this season
