Beagle I think would be a horrible post defender at the power 5 level. Just hasnt had to be tested in that regard tonight

Probably couldāve/shouldāve beat that team by 40 if we shot it better from 3 and the FT line. Still some positives to take away though. Gardner looked great, Armaan found his shot, and Kihei is starting to get us some one man fast break points by picking up full court.

Good teams win. Great teams cover. Tonight we were only good. Armaan had a solid 2nd half of the first half. Jayden and Kihei did well. Game was mostly cruise control since 2nd half but only 66 points is meh.
Onto ACC play. And onto watching Kentucky lose and then reading Rupp. Oh but they are showing our documentary now on ACC Networkā¦

Armaan had only scored double digits once since the Baylor game- but had attempted double digit shots only once (4/12 vs Illinois). I think he is the most important player in terms of whether or not we reach our ceiling (based on consistency of Reece, Kihei and even Gardner).
Staff needs to implore him to take 10-12 shots a game. That is the sweet spot for working through mistakes and building confidence.

Honestly McKneelyās form looks fine to me. Itās just not going in as much as weād like. I feel heās due for a game where he hits 3 or 4 in an ACC game

Armaan 3-6, KC 1-1, rest of team 1-11. Weāre gonna struggle if this continues. 18 conference games left, could easily see 12-6, 11-7.
Usually does against the smaller schools

I got us at 15-5 overall, but yeah we gotta shoot it better. Need to be around 35% from deep at least, otherwise thereās gonna be a bunch of games decided by single digits in ACC play.

11-7 would be an absolute disaster and seems to be a bit of an overreaction. We have to play better but I suspect weāll grind out a lot of wins even when the shots arenāt falling.

Iām all for the bench getting clean up minutes but I must admit giving up all those 3ās to destroy the final stats is very upsetting. Our KENPOM rating suffers because of the lack of focusā¦
