I like their pot pies as well… but I’d drive by KFC to get to Boston Market for their pot pie every day of the week however.

Yeah. At least for the last ~3 years, maybe longer? For $5 you get a pot pie, a drink and cookie. Fantastic deal.

I did not know Boston Market had good pot pies. In my defense, I haven’t been in one in forever.

Always considered Boston Market health food. I remember stopping there once with Hav, June and Big Red (maybe in NOVA) and they ordered One of Everything. We mustve had prediem loot that day

There used to be a similar place called Chicken Out up on Mass Ave in DC, about two blocks from our house. Was a standard place for the family on a weeknight when neither of us felt like cooking. Better than Boston Market, but not by much. Pretty sure they closed since we moved west.

Used to get Chicken Out a bunch the summer I lived in Charlotte. I think they went out of business.

I’m with @haney I crushed some Popeyes when I moved to Alexandria as well. We used to go to the one on H Street in DC and order like 100 pieces and lay them out on the pool table at bar and crush it after games.

Bojangles breakfast is the best thing going outside of Biscuitville.

I will say the biscuits and gravy at McDonalds is on point - about the only thing we do there.
And yes - I’m sure most of you didn’t realize they had it there - because they don’t until you get far enough south.

Popeyes over KFC for me, but back in college, we used to hit up the KFC Buffet up on 29 and 250 on the regular.

It’s just nice to know I’m not the only fat ass on here.

Missed the Arby’s momentum but some of the Arby’s locations in Richmond are independently operated.

They’ve got a whole bunch of different menu items as a result. Brunswick stew, rotisserie chickens, etc. Super nice inside as well.

Who goes to an Arby’s and thinks “I want the Brunswick” stew?

Ha. thought the same but am here for Brunswick stew all day

No doubt. The problem is not Brunswick Stew it;s the source

Smithfield’s is an NC only chain with a killer Brunswick stew.

Great BBQ. I suppose @DavetheWave is familiar with it.

Ha - get Brunswick stew as the side to the chicken snack plate at Smithfield’s - their fried chicken is more consistent than KVC or Popeye’s or Bojangles - here in my territory anyway.
We also have a local BBQ joint called Tickle my Ribs that has a great Brunswick stew and fried okra - only place I’ll eat okra …
Although the dirty rice and mashed potatoes with sausage gravy at Bojangles satisfies…
Menu tip - get the dirty rice with gravy …

I think Smithfield’s has great fried chicken as well. I used to bring it back for my work crew and they LOVED it. BBQ is not bad either.

If you go for the tea - get the “half and half” - they’ll know what you mean!
I have to pass like 4-5 Smithfields on my way to the beach…one usually gets me!

Am playing catchup but have found Culver’s to be my go to spot since I moved to NC. That’s my favorite fast food burger

I get half and half tea everywhere here … straight sweet tea in NC is syrup.
