Andrew Rohde - Official Thread

That’s fair. I was using that mark starting from his scoring range at St Thomas and adjusting down a little based on some of the expectations out there.

The pace will slow that but I do think it’s probable that all of Beekman, IMK, and Dunn have a higher scoring average this year, and possible even Minor does which would be a calming of expectations on Rohde for some.

Would surprise me if anyone averages 15 a game this year … but could have 6 between 7-13

Thanks bro! Was it high volume or low volume on the 3 attempts? Liked his game especially defensively and jack-of-all-trades skill.

Seemingly a small thing but important … he shoots on the way up which is less prone to slumps. Also gives a dude more easy range.

So calm and decisive

I am engorged

This dude Rohde has no problem pulling up from Ty land without hesitation. He is also an excellent passer and sees the court extremely well. Beekman, IMAC, and Rohde could be a legit 3 headed monster on the perimeter. With athletic depth to back them up.

TB is recruiting at an elite level. By my count (unless I’m missing one) UVA will have 8 four star players on the roster this year. Including a walk on that dunks like Michael Jordan.

Add 2 of Mallory, Kon, or Wilkins, and its checkmate …

Think you nailed the count.

Beekman, Dunn, Mckneely, Bond, Buchanan, Gertrude, Bliss, and Murray.

I do think it’s fair to sort of just switch Rohde and Murray though, lol. But even if you do that it still equals 8.

Eight 4 stars, and 4 transfers who have started at the D1 level. Only Robinson falls into neither category.

I’ve seen some services list Bliss as a three-star. I don’t put much stock into the ratings. Some of our best players missed or barely dented the Top 100: Harris, Brogdon, London, Trey and, yes, Kihei (among others). I think by the time their careers are done, it will be obvious that Rohde, Robinson and Bliss were all significantly undervalued.

The threshold I used to use for my analysis was Top 150. Captured guys who were in that borderline 3/4-star zone but ended up being big contributors, especially in those early Bennett success years.

I think Bliss would’ve been top 75-100 or so, following his Peach Jam performance, if he had stayed in 2024. Reclassing obviously mucks with the rankings (like with Mamadi)

Mamadi ended up a 247 composite No. 37, even with the reclass.

The two it seems to have hurt most were Hall and Bliss.

I didn’t realize he was still so high in 247. I used to think of RSCI as the standard, but I feel like the other composites have taken over (247 composite and On3’s industry standard, or whatever). And Mamadi isn’t in RSCI for his year

Rohde Q&A. Biggest takeaway is Robinson is the tallest guy on the team

The SGA comparison is kinda fun

Q: Do you have any pregame rituals or a go-to pregame meal?
Rohde: My pregame meal is pasta or fettuccine alfredo.

Ah, to be 19. I got sick just thinking about doing any sort of hard exercise post-fettuccine alfredo.

Good lord. If we can just talk him out of eating fettuccine alfredo before every game he might be all ACC first team. Who knows how much that’s been holding him back.
