Tony in the middle of his retirement press conference giving Matt Norlander shit for going to 104 Dave Matthews Band shows.
Heās still got it.

Legit hilarious
Crazy conflicting emotions watching this. Absolutely gutted first and foremost.
Legit pissed know I told @Merch that last night in the chat and he said he didnāt quite get that. But Iām pissed. Iām pissed at the state of the game. Iām pissed at Tidewater Inn and Iām pissed at Tony cause it hurts. Heās someone whoās had a massive influence in my life and it hurts that heās not going to be a regular part of it in this role.
I also am full of respect for Tony. I completely get the reason why he did it and I understand his why for the timing. Itās clear this is something while at peace with it, he is hurting and sad. Takes a strong competent man to know when to take a knee and he showed he had the wisdom of understanding of situation.
Coach K, Boeheim, Ol Roy, Chris Beard, Matt Painter, Coach L, Hubert, Scheyer - damn, we canāt beat this guy
Tides Inn of Rapahannock - hold my beer
I canāt seem to get on a link at work, was going to watch it later, but what is the Tidewater Inn story?
He went there and decided to retire
No more PTO for anyone. Work is mandatory
Really interesting comments about his desire for an assistant to take over when he retired. I think he just checkmated Carla after being told he wouldnāt be picking his successor
I always want to retire when I go on vacation, I get it.
Time to bulldoze that MFer and put up an Arbyās.
I cried.
This sucks
Iām completely worthless today.
Just a weird, weird feeling throughout that whole thing. I guess if finally hit heās not coaching here anymore but idk something just aināt right. Still love Tony and what he did here.
Kinda like a prizefighter knowing when heās hit his time, right?
Blame the Tides Inn!
Heās gone. The Tony Bennett era is over.
We got more answers than I expected.
We also learned that heās been handing off ānew environmentā duties to his staff for the last 3 years. And he felt like that meant they would better at this.
Yea athletes or coaches its the same. If you donāt have the passion and are not all in then it just doesnāt work. The job is too all consuming to do it half assed. Maybe he can be a part of the game in another capacity but given the way things are I think heās done with walking the sidelines and he seems at peace and hurt by that which makes sense.
That was pretty damn good. He didnāt hold anything back. Completely open about his reasons too. No secret conspiracy, just burn out and not cut out to deal with all the extra bullshit that goes with the job.
I think the staff had really shielded him from all the necessary shenanigans as much as possible, which he alluded to. Just canāt be done completely. Heās pretty incredible to even think in the terms he put it, that theyāll be better off with someone who embraces it. Not sure I agree but still.
