That’s not Buster Keaton. That’s Joe E. Brown.

You’re right. Brain fart on my part. Thanks!

De nada. Gentlemen of our vintage are susceptible to that sort of thing.

Jack Lemmon tries to explain to Joe E Brown that he is not a woman

Right you are. Tony Curtis is gettin’ busy with Marilyn Monroe in the back of the boat. And Lemmon does one of the all-time great double-takes as he realizes that lovestruck Joe E. Brown has known all along.

Absolutely right. I’m not having one of my better days! Thanks!

RDJ was robbed of an Oscar in this movie. Seriously epic performance

I’m a huge Billy Wilder fan. Consider this. In 1959, he co-wrote and directed Some Like It Hot. In 1960, he co-wrote and directed The Apartment. Both are amazing films. Plus, each has a great last line of dialogue.

Some Like It Hot: “Nobody’s perfect.”

The Apartment: “Shut up and deal.”

Other Wilder movies: Double Indemnity, Sunset Blvd., Witness for the Prosecution, Stalag 17, Ace in the Hole, Sabrina. Dozens more as a writer or uncredited writer. Remarkable talent.
