How are you accessing it? And do you have a Smart TV or a streaming device like a Roku/Amazon Fire Stick/Chromecast?
I don’t have any of that. All i know is i got ACC network and ESPN+
Tell me what i need and ill go buy it
I assume by accessing the Espn app is on my desktop
Can i just watch it on my laptop until i can get what i need to watch it on Tv?
If you can’t stream to your TV, then you’d need to use the ESPN app or watch it on the ESPN+ website.
Thanks , I will just go buy me a big ass monitor
Before you do that, answer a couple of questions. What sort of TV do you have? How do you access content currently? Cable? Over-the-air broadcasts? If you have an HD TV, but not a Smart TV, and your cable provider doesn’t include ACCN, then consider getting a Roku Streaming Stick 4K. It’s available at Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon for around $50, and having used both, I prefer the Roku stick to the Amazon Fire Stick. The Roku device will allow you to install the Sling TV app (or the YouTube TV app, or the hulu app), the ESPN app, the CW app (although that might not be useful for live games) and the Fox Sports app, as well as others. Lots of free content there. Even if your current TV isn’t capable of 4K, buying the 4K version now insures a seamless transition to any television upgrades you consider in the near future.
Watching Duke playing UNC-Pembroke. Less than 3 minutes into the game and Proctor has 4 3 pointers
…an 85 inch LG OLED.
Done!
I’d go with 73’s advice. I’ve had issues with smart tvs not updating their software. But if you have any of the devices he mentioned, or an appletv, or Blu-ray player with smart capabilities, you can always be sure to be able to update with the latest apps to stream on whatever tv you connect it to.
I’m not the most tech savvy and I’ve found Roku sticks to be affordable and fairly straightforward. And you can probably get one by opening night. Also, you need to make sure (I think) that you have credentials from your TV provider (whatever provider gives you ACCN)
Thanks guys, I appreciate all your help. Now i have to wait for my son to come by and tell me what the hell you guys are talking about
I’m kidding. You guys have been a lot of help. Hopefully this old guy can figure some of it out
To elaborate on @haney’s note.
A Roku stick is basically this device you plug into your TV. It brings you to a screen where a bunch of different streaming apps are available (ESPN/ESPN+, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.). You can access all of the content on those apps if you have subscriptions to them.
It doesn’t require much tech knowledge at all to set up - they walk you through set up. Here’s a link to buy it: Amazon.com
If you ever get lost. Go to Youtube and search your question. Lots of great visual tutorials to walk you through.
I don’t have Roku. I actually live in the boondocks and i have a satellite dish. No cable available where I’m at
But that Roku stick would still be helpful
Yeah, it definitely would. It just runs on internet - doesn’t matter how you get your regular TV channels.
I’m actually starting to understand this a little bit
In my situation i definitely need a Roku stick
