With Bliss and Robinson redshirting, will be interesting to see who the 11th man is coming off the bench. At this point Gertrude right? The most behind (think he and leon will begin carving out roles further into the season, I just don’t see hope for Taine or Groves is they aint hittings 3s and are not able to defend/rebound).
Dante McKneely Taine Dunn Buchanan vs Reece Rohde Bond Groves Minor? That’s my random guess the opening lineups are always so random and then maybe Tony shows his hand in the 3rd quarter lol.

I have no idea what Taine’s role might be but I’m not entirely writing him off as a guy who could come in and shoot at a high clip. Loved him out of HS and while he obviously hasn’t been what we hoped, I think there’s still some potential there for some kind of a role. We’ll see.

Gertrude and Taine are players #10 and 11 this year as of today, I think. I think in a pinch either could and would play; i.e., if the injury bug really hit the backcourt. But otherwise it’s a numbers and experience game. I like us as a 9-deep team this year: Dante coming in at the 1, Bond at the 3/4, Groves at the 4/5, and Buchanan at the 5, with hopefully Bond and Buchanan incrementally stealing minutes from Groves as the season wears on. Gertrude is a year away, let Reece graduate and he can compete for those freed-up 35 mpg with Dante and Bliss. Murray just is who he is, providing steady “break in case of emergency” depth and practice experience while working on his ambitious academics.

I’m sorry for my post being a bit off topic, but can someone who has been to this before give me an idea of what the attendance is like? I am trying to figure out when I should be there.

Every scrimmage I’ve attended the attendance has been between about 5K and 7K

Every time I’ve been the lower bowl is pretty much full with a little spill over into the first rows of the upper. Band bleachers aren’t out so it’s basically 3/4 of a lower bowl anyway.

I don’t think we can say that with confidence yet. Murray did something right at the end of last year to earn himself minutes down the stretch and performed pretty well. If Bond isn’t quite ready yet, Taine could easily have a role on the wing. I guess my point was that while it’s unlikely he’ll play a lot, I don’t think we should necessarily pencil him in for zero minutes. He’s a veteran player that still has some potential to be tapped into, in my opinion. It’s not like he’s someone like Kody who played enough minutes for it to be clear he had major limitations. I don’t think we’ve seen enough of Taine yet to know for sure he can’t have a role. We’ll see.
