Sean would right the ship. He’s kept his nose clean at X and is rebuilding his rep. I don’t like Sean on a personal level and using X as a stepping stone for a 2nd time would solidify that. But he can coach and many of his transgressions are on what is now NIL adjacent and not so bad.

What are the top coaching targets at the moment? Seems like the up-and-coming guys are still young and need time to prove themselves, the guys of the right age have tainted backgrounds (Beard, Miller), and the good options seems to be old guys that may not want to be in this basketball climate.
If I’m Kentucky, I think I’m holding onto Calipari for 2 more years and seeing how things look then.
I’m guessing scott drew would be at the top of the Kentucky list.
What am I missing with Drew? I mean obviously Kentucky if you can get it would make sense for him to look at but why is he multiple radars? Maybe better said why would he be looking to leave Baylor for any job that isn’t UK Kansas Duke UNC?

Agree with Michigan being a better job but I think with some good transfers Lville could absolutely be a top 4 acc team pretty quickly. They have bags, low academic standards for athletes, and decent tradition. Hiring the right coach is step one.

I wonder if WVU chose DeVries over Byington or if Vandy swooped in and stole him away after they missed out on somebody else. Looks like DeVries is bringing most of the Drake roster with him, so that had to sweeten the pot. But I think Vanderbilt got the better coach.

Sadly I think you’re right. It feels like the Virginia cohort needs to land at a smaller spot and prove they are not CTB clones if they want to land a job a higher Mid-Major seriously looking to compete.
