Everyone good with me starting a TB Memories thread where we post our favorite highlights/memories from the TB era?

isn’t that the ctb appreciation thread? That being said do not ask permission from others to live your truth

Lol forgot that existed. I’ll start a new one specifically dedicated to this topic

Let’s use this thread to post our favorite games of the TB era… from the obvious ones to the less heralded wins. Any win that you remember fondly, and boy are there a lot to choose from, post it here and include some highlights so we can remember which one you’re talking about.

I’ll start… this VCU game was AWESOME. That team was so good before JA got hurt and this win was really impressive. VCU cuts the lead to 4 late and then Perrantes hits a tough fall away jumper in the lane, and we coasted to a big win in a very hostile environment. This game also gave us a legendary Nolte moment when he dove to poke the ball away. That was my twitter pic for years lol

Don’t think Woldo UNC buzzer beater has been mentioned yet. UNC fans were pretending they didn’t care about that game/season but they HATE losing to us in basketball

Easy:

Will note a few others I remember fondly:

The Maryland game during the natty season (Jack Salt legacy game)

The VCU game during the natty season (the Kihei mythology game)

The Kihei game winner against tech (watched this game at the Paramount in downtown Cville)

Here’s the VT game I was referencing where we boatraced them in Cassel. This one stands out for me because it’s tech, obviously, but I had just had surgery and was couped up that week, feeling sorry for myself. UVA lifted my spirits considerably by beating UNC a few days earlier, and then this BEAT DOWN on Tech.

That 2020 team was so tough to watch at times but super gritty. Won so many close games with big shots. And we were playing with house money since the Natty was the year prior so it was a lot more enjoyable in terms of just appreciating wins/losses vs. worrying about development or the future

ACC championship over Parker’s Duke team. Harris hitting the late transition dagger 3. I will never forget that game.

The 2019 tourney run kind of goes without saying but the 2014 game at Pitt that Malcolm won at the buzzer was when I knew things were going to be different with TB.

We would have never won a game like that on the road, in the previous 15+ years.

Here’s the highlight. Gotta love the “first field goal for UVA in over 8 minutes”. Classic TB ball!

Gotta get to work but here’s a great video on the turnaround of 2014, and ultimately what became the beginning of our long run of success. Glad I found this!

Random game from the 2014 season that many probably don’t remember, but this was from my first year and JPJ just went electric during that 22-0 run. Still maintain the single loudest I’ve experienced JPJ was the JA Block to Gill slam sequence. It was deafening. Just an amazing team that was finally starting to live up to the hype before the ACC Tournament run.
