It’s a really nice pick-6, but we should also comment on how other teams seems to respond to De Ridder. He’s a fiery and demonstrative player on the court who also plays physically. He’s likely going to be the kind of player who gets under the opposition’s skin, at times. Here, the Van Komen foul was clearly out of frustration with Thijs – and if you’re getting your opponent to lose their cool and keeping your own, that’s normally a plus.
He’s definitely the guy on the team most likely to be involved in an altercation this season.
That Thomas spin move into bank shot was sweet, though I can’t help but notice that he had to really get up to catch the pass before it because Jacari nearly threw it into the second row.
I’m so excited that we are a team that Gortat-screens so aggressively.

Yeah, Thijs is going to be the player opposing fans love to hate… and I love it.
The Hall/Grünloh prison/Gortat screens are a lot of fun to watch.
