✂ Cuts From The Corner: Odom's Offense

Nice! Just as I’m about to board a 5 hour flight!

Edit: is it just me or is page not loading on mobile?

You are not alone. Some kind of loading glitch. @Cuts_from_The_Corner broke the internet with knowledge.

Cuts’ YouTube heavy stuff doesn’t load well on mobile. If you go to his main site and select email delivery, you can at least read the text that way

Sadly, there’s nothing from youtube in this one - just a lot of video (I should say, directly from Youtube - it’s all from Youtube but I tried to record the screen itself so there wouldn’t be any external links - doesn’t seem to have avoided the issue).

Let me see what I can do but it may just not be great for mobile.

Great stuff!!! Thanks!

What I’m hoping for is 1) relentless clawing pressure where opposing teams feel like they were locked in a phone booth with an angry bobcat; 2) rebounding, rebounding, rebounding including offensive rebounding for 2nd chance scoring opportunities; 3) no fear on offense.

I want UVA to be the team everyone hates to play. I want opposing fans, coaches, players to whine and complain after each game. They were that during the best years of Bennett and the best years of Jones. I want to get back to that but schematically more uptempo and aggressive all over the court.

On mobile—stopping the page from fully loading has always worked for me. Can still watch the videos, just to have to stop the page from loading before it crashes

This is great! I’m partial to the motion/zoom sets as well.

Also, might I offer a friendly suggestion: could be useful to experiment to see what number of videos is the cutoff for page crashing on mobile and just try to limit videos to under that threshold. Speaking for myself, I find really 3-5 videos per ‘idea’ is enough to convey each core point. If peeps were able to see on mobile I think you’d get a much broader readership since phones are the much more popular way people read blogs these days. Not trying to tell you how to do your stuff, just a friendly suggestion!

Similar idea: more links / fewer embeds? Would that help? That said, I do appreciate the embedded videos once I’m able to see them on my laptop.

Agreed I need to do this for the game reviews for my own sanity as well - and I can probably tighten some of the transfer pieces.

But for these system pieces I want them to be less quick reference and more robust.

Read about half of it, so far. Mostly the transition stuff.

Thanks as always. Stoked to see it play out!

Also, should add: very excited to see a healthy Elijah G pushing in transition.

Great stuff as usual Cuts! Really looking forward to embracing a new pace.

Regarding the loading issue on mobile devices, I usually watch on my iPad without problem. However, I’m usually on WiFi when doing so. This time, I did notice that one video was a link while all the rest were embedded. Definitely prefer the embeds.

I thought I’d cleaned it all up to embeds but one may have gotten out of line!

I’ll go check. Thanks.

Agreed - I’m excited to see Eli pressure the ball, too.

Come for the extensive breakdown of Odom’s offense.

Stay for the Darnell Rogers clips. I had forgotten about that dude.
