I love the Mallory possession where the defender decided to harrass Chance. It was like Chance said “ok, Smart Ass, let’s see who wins this one”.
Question about Chance. I have been surprised that Chance has missed as many wide open threes as he had, some off by a lot. I hadn’t watched much of his HS games but I assumed, because of his size, he hit a really high rate when guarded loosely and that his percentage came back to human figures because so many attempts were made difficult for him to get off. Every time he gets free I expect it to go in. In reality he seems to me to make the difficult ones (pressure or quite long) at almost the rate he makes the “easy” ones. My imagination?

I think that’s mostly driven by he had his own shooting slump for a while there not very long ago where he was missing a lot of open looks.
The three he hit in this one was a clean look from the corner - and I’d say more of his threes lately have been more open than not (had a wide open three on the wing in transition against BC and a clutch open three in the corner again vs ND).
He does make some hard ones but I’ve noticed that many of those are where you can tell he wants to shoot it and has been lining the shot up in his mind for a while before he gets the ball and then quickly launches over a contest.
He’s still shooting 36.6% from deep on the season - given his shot selection I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s around, maybe a little worse than his career average.
But I haven’t noticed a strong correlation there - just that he had a colder stretch.
I do suspect he’ll gun more when he’s a more senior member of the team. Not that he’s shy now, but I think his playstyle may feel a little different when he’s got more tenure.
What do you think his marching orders are from staff? Does he have a full green light, or is the regulator still on?
For who, Chance? I think he has a full green. I’m just saying if he’s a 4 year player for us I expect him to be more aggressive taking those than he even has been (and he’s not shy).
