Not finished yet, but already annoyed again at the amount of BS Yigitoglu is getting away with (moving screens, million seconds in the key, throwing guys around).
Ugo blocking Yigitoglu’s hook shot from within the restricted area is pretty nuts.
On the offensive rebounding, I think there’s an argument we are the best “scramble” offense in the country. Hoop Explorer has us at 12th in percentage of offense coming in scramble situations (possessions finishing after an offensive rebound, minus the ones where the offense resets) and 4th in points-per-possession in those situations.
Busy chart, but maybe it’s close with Florida, who has lower efficiency but is leading the field in percentage of scramble offense by a good margin.

Yeah, that Ugo block was ridiculous. There’s a clip from the old Sampson/Ewing game I saw recently where Ewing blocks him a couple of times in a row point blank and Ralph like loses it after the play, punches the air, etc. I imagined that’s how Yiğitoğlu must’ve been feeling throughout. Not as many direct blocks - but we bothered just about everything and forced him to miss so many bunnies.

Grunediggity’s footwork on his outside jumpers is gross.
I think we gotta talk more about De Ridder’s mental collapse in the second half. He lets so much get to his head, he complains, and he makes bad plays because of it.
He’s clearly one of our two best players, if not best, so it feels silly to harp on, but it’s such a controllable thing and it’s going to cost us down the stretch in an important game or two.
Also, can he stop taking the ball up the court during transition? It just has to end. Way too many turnovers across the whole season.
