Sweet irony lol. So glad I hadn’t muted you yet. Now I can walk away feeling like I broke even.

I remember when Tony Bennett put 6’6 240-lb Jayden Gardner on 6’10 Paolo Banchero.

Banchero had only two games at Duke in which he didn’t reach double figures. Guess which games they were?

Don’t count out a kid because you have tunnel vision.

Gardner played great D by making Paolo miss bunnies, Braxton Key style

One of the biggest reasons we struggled last season was the lack of old men.
We will have no lack of old men this year.
Hall, Tillis, Malik, Jacari, Onyesu, hopefully de Ridder.

An incomplete list of 4s next season in the ACC:

  • Duke: Cameron Boozer, Nikolas Khamenia (I’m betting that Maliq and Ngongba split the minutes at the 5 and don’t play next to each other much)
  • UNC: Caleb Wilson, Jarin Stevenson
  • Louisville: Kasean Pryor (assuming Fru starts at center), Khani Rooths, J’Vonne Hadley (Louisville is very light on bigs)
  • SMU: Sam Walters, one or more of their freshman guys who are tall
  • Clemson: Nick Davidson, Jake Wahlin (not really sure who of their 4 bigs to categorize as a 4 vs 5)
  • Miami: Malik Reneau
  • NC State: Arceneaux, Jerry Deng (though they don’t really have anything resembling a center yet)
  • Syracuse: Donnie Freeman
  • Notre Dame: Dunno…Kebba Njie I guess?
  • Pitt: Cam Corhen (aka the softest big in the ACC, but I assume they’ll play Dishon Jackson as a center with him)
  • Wake: Omaha Biliew I guess?
  • VT: Hansberry/Lawal (whichever you think is less of a center)
  • FSU: …Chauncey Wiggins?
  • Cal: John Camden? He’s kinda more of a wing.
  • GT: Ndongo
  • Stanford: Chisom Okpara, I suppose
  • BC: Do I really have to care? Either their Mizzou transfer or their Butler transfer.

Yes, we are projecting, but Tice and Tillis gonna be a better 4 duo than all those but Duke, Louisville, maybe Clemson and VT. If Tice is the shit like we hope he will be, jump Clemson and VT.

What you notice about Tillis is that he’s super crafty finishing in traffic. It’s a little Jerome-esque. Just finds ways to not get blocked even though he’s shorter and playing way more under the rim than his match ups.

The other thing is that he operates further out than more traditional 4s. He’s got a pretty quick first step for his size and his passing vision creates problems for help defense.

He’ll struggle against the anomalies (huge talented, athletic 4s) but has enough plan B, C, D to his game that he’ll be mostly fine.

First time I’ve ever seen a hidden public profile.

Hansberry and Lawal are both solid enough but I’m not a fan of that pairing

Ironically, the user’s private profile is currently on a billboard in Times Square

Banchero was terrible both games because he was annoyed a runt was getting under him. Easy to miss bunnies when your head’s not in the game.

Far different from Key, who had a season-long case of the Steve Sax / Chuck Knoblauch yips.

I was going to reply to him, but you made the same points, so I just put him on ignore instead.

What a hill to die on, saying a guy won’t be able to do something before he even has a chance to do it. And then if he’s right, what’s he even celebrating? That he told a bunch of internet strangers that he was right about a college kid getting his dreams destroyed? Is that something to be happy about? Is he even a fan of this team/school?

There’s some soft dudes on this thread. Grow up.

I also don’t get why being soft is a bad thing.

I’m soft. Now what. Where do we go from here conversational wise? Back on topic about Devin Tillis? Surely not, that would be too on the nose.

A one sided affair can’t be a rivalry.

I’m already 1-0. Less of a rivalry. Moreso a random non conference game in December
