Any word on if the planned visit with Warley went ahead this morning regardless of the commitment announcement on Friday?
Well on this one I pretty well know who told what, so Iād be pretty surprised if itās wrong. But ya never know. Sometimes recruits/families head fake even the people close to them.
Exactly what Iām thinkinā. Likely is just salty his commitment is already known.
I didnāt realize Warley put out a shorter list of 6. Florida State, Memphis, Miami, Michigan, Oregon and Virginia. And heās announcing on CBS Sports HQ. Is that a tv show? l donāt even know. 1pm Sunday.
Indiana, Purdue, and Virginia.
āIndiana and Purdue are really up there as far as how serious they are. Virginia is up there. I think those three are really recruiting me hard right now,ā
Doesnāt sound like itās going to end soon. Really emphasizes planning everything out and thinking about all his options deeply.
always the the random Oregon from east coast guys. Wonder whyā¦
According to a well informed UVA poster on the Sabre, we are looking at Taine Murray out of New Zealand
I wish Keels had sent that Jordan meme tweet after that anonymous account had predicted he was closing his recruitmentā¦instead of extending his recruitment for 2 months.
Highlight from recent Basketball without Borders camp. Looks solid. If we donāt get Keels I would honestly pocket the ship for 2022 and take both McKneely and Justin Taylor, but HGN brought up that great point about how having a 3rd year on the team down the line is better than having a 2nd year (outside an incredible talent).
I hate that this got out but yeah. Thatās part of why the hold on '22 offers we believe. Ideally heās a 2nd guard but of course could also be the first. Theyāre in pretty deep with him. No idea the odds. We know Stanford is heavily involved, Purdue Maryland also in there.
X mentioned Murray in this thread and no one caught on ![]()
I saw where X mentioned Murray. I literally thought it was some kind of a typo lol the truth comes out!
What account predicted Keels was closing his commitment?
A twitter account a couple months ago. I believe the tag was āTheRealSourcesā?
Trevor almost immediately shot it down.
Yea, I remember that
Yeah no blaming anybody, just how it is. Canāt keep secrets for long. This had gotten to the boiling over point where it was commonly discussed in certain circles. So knew it was coming. @brogdonfanpage will attest we read some signals wrong and were prepared for news to break a week or so ago. lol
Would Murray be someone who could contribute his first year, or is he more of a 2022 recruit for all intents and purposes?
I assume they are evaluating whether theyād take Murray or just kick the can down the road to a 2022?
I think Murray could be really really good but as with most guys coming from overseas that first year could be a big adjustment. He averaged 17 per this year against grown men, same league Wilkins played in a couple seasons ago. Heās legit. Game over there is so different though. Oh Iām pretty sure Murray is a take all the way. Itās the other guys in '22 that are sorta waiting on his verdict, thatās part of the puzzle with them anyway.
To add, this May article from 247 compares him to a Top 100 recruit.
Watching more highlights of him, hes really quick both up and down the court and coming off a screen to shoot a three. Also looks like he has a really good wingspan (says 6ā6 winspan but looks longer). Good form on his jumper. Really intriguing athlete/prospect. Also see him running the point a lot for his team. Apparently he is also open to enrolling in the winter for college but I dont think we will have an opening.
