I mean give me a ring when we find another coach who can consistently get us to .500 or beat Tech lmao
SMU is such a wildcard for me. Im with yoi 9n the curiosity. Stone can go and thats a team that won 10 games last year and the jump to the ACC is big but it’s not like the PAC12 teams that jimpedto the B1G where theres a major jump in talent and style.
He was 1-5 vs Tech, but sure let’s build him a statue.
So you’re telling me he has the only win in almost two decades? Yeah don’t build him a statue but it’s not hard to acknowledge that he was very successful by our programs standard
It’s my understanding that the Tomahawk Chop tune came from a 1960s production of Riverdance. At least that’s what I heard.
The only thing I know about Bronco in comparison to Elliot if that if you are looking at the 2024 season, Bronco has 1 loss and Elliot has zero losses and 1 loss is more than zero so therefore Elliot is better. I got a 780 on my math SAT
There’s a shit ton of factors that go into the Bronco good or bad debate, and I won’t delve into them for the sake of not turning this thread into the 247 board, but all I’ll say is at least for me those factors culminate into me thinking that Bronco was just fine here as a coach. Not great, not terrible, just decent sitting around average to maybe slightly above average depending on what your criteria for success is here. He did a lot of things right, and a lot of things wrong (some of which he’s continuing to do wrong at New Mexico, looking at you Nick).
Probably viewed as fence sitting but that’s my honest opinion, and I’m kinda surprised people from our fanbase take such hard stances on him one way or the other. Maybe it’s the way he exited, and in hindsight I wouldn’t say I necessarily like how things went down, but I also don’t have all the details so no real visceral hatred toward the guy.
Ok now back to what actually matters, every other college football game.
Forgot that Nevada hired Jeff Choate, previously the Texas co-DC and before that the HC at Montana State who put them back on the right track. Feel like that’s a pretty good hire for them.
Welp SMU is ACC ready
It’s still in the 1st quarter but SMU hasn’t exactly been impressive so far. Doesn’t feel like a team that should’ve been favored by 4 TD’s.
I think they win thia game but the spread is exactly why I typically go with dogs on big spreads early. This is not a blow you out type of team.
Did Stone get hurt and I missed it? SMU’s backup QB playing the past two drives.
I dunno i just jumped in with 3ish mins in the 1st haven’t seen him.
Wash st and Or st landed in the Mountain West? Damn
SMU showing us what a platoon QB looks like? Stone back on and I haven’t heard an explanation
I checked the stats and Stone is 3/10 with a pick, so that might be the issue.
Yeah probably, though that seems like a very quick hook for one of the more heralded returning QB’s in the country.
Exactly he was all over ESPN and fox’s previews. Pulling him 3 drives into the season is rough.
The ACC has a stench that even the newest members must give in to
17-10 Nevada at half.
As a reminder, SMU was 28 point favorites in this game. To put it lightly, they have looked like shit.
The ACC ruins all it touches.
I do not understand how a tram that returned 9 offensive players and the entire staff is so sloppy on offense. QBs and RBs collision in the back field oline not on the same page
