Dream Recruits (maybe non-UVA related)

Ike is a beast. He moves right away to the top of my dream list.

If he’s a beast we probably won’t get him in the NIL era

Oof, we could have used a guy who can create his own shot this year.

Apparently string Louisville connections and with Pitino. So there or St John’s

Ngl I’m subconsciously not even considering any transfer portal entries that are 6’1 or under given that we already have Harris. I just don’t see the need for two small guards on the roster even if Beeks goes pro.

Cooper Bowser season highlights. Includes game against TJ Power and Worcester and 2 games vs Putnam (Alabama commit Mouhamed Diaboute).

I absolutely understand the Robert Jennings interest in terms of need of immediate playable depth, but Id personally rather Damarien Yates and this Cooper Bowser kid developing as our ā€œprojectā€ front court pieces. Athletes who can shoot 3s and protect the rim with legitimate size and length but not high ranked/more willing to buy into a developmental role on a top 20 team.

He’s going to UNC Asheville.

Why has this guy not blown up yet recruiting wise?

Serious question? IDK.

Option 1 - the people high on him have lying eyes.

Option 2 - there’s a shift in what the player assessments due to the covid year. Just for example if you need 6’6" shooter. Do you take Shaedon or a guy like this?

Oh I’d go after BOTH! Whomever decides, gets the scholly. No more Keels or Power watching.

Shaedon doesn’t really create his own shot. Also his handle is suspect in terms of immediately translating to the college level and for a perimeter player that may be a red flag for some teams.

If his handle is suspect then what is Ryan Dunn’s?

Lol… Ryan Dunn is a completely different level of player than Shaedon Simpson. With all the colleges in North Carolina and you have the Lewis family (who many D1 coaches respect) in that area who both know about Shaedon well and also talk to college coaches; if he was a major talent the offers would be there. He can be a good college player and who knows afterwards but Dunn is a completely different level of prospect.

Whats Battle story… didn’t he quit on his team?

Still no Cormac Ryan or Ja’Von Franklin in the portal. Maybe they stick it out with the new coaches.
