🏈 Football 2024-2025 Head Coach Wishlist

Monken’s roots are in Illinois, so going to Purdue makes extra sense, plus they’ve got the high academics angle he’s used to with the Academies.

There was a flight tracker going around showing a private flight from Lynchburg to the UCF area, and there have been rumors going around (I live in the Lynchburg area) that he was gone at the end of the year. One reason Salter is in the portal again. He had been mentioned with UNC some around here.

Same source is now saying that UCF is down to Barry Odom and Scott Frost.

Scott frost already on the redemption tour is funny. He was on fire before bombing at Nebraska

What’s the deal with the Marshall coach going to Southern Miss? Odd move

Apparently bad blood between him and admin. Extremely weird.

Is it though??

Feels like he held on at Marshall a yr too long and burned his good will on the coaching market

Barry Odom to Purdue. Pretty sad about that one, now we see if Marion is going with him.

Also see that Marshall hired Tony Gibson to replace Huff. Gibson was a fall back candidate at WVU if they didn’t land one of their top choices.

Didnt WVU land Rich Rod? A bit out of the loop today but saw that this morning and scratched my head

He was spotted by a bagger at Kroger in Morgantown.

Lol if WVU goes with Rich Rod they are not serious about football.

Honestly I don’t think Rich Rod is a terrible hire for them, it’s gonna split their fanbase in half in terms of support but from an X’s and O’s standpoint Rodriguez has been ahead of his time offensively for like 20 years.

If he can find a quality dual threat QB to run his shit he’ll do fine there in his 2nd stint. Don’t think it’ll be the 10+ win seasons they had in the 2000’s but he’s a step up from Neal Brown.

I could have sworn he already had two tenures there. I guess I just had a premonition

It could work for sure. I know Rich Rod had some redemption during his tenure at SD State?!?

But I’m generally leery about the idea of going to the well too many times and trying to recreate the magic.

Pat White and Steve Slaton ain’t walking through that door.

I thought Odom was WVU bound for sure. AD worked with him at Missouri and it seemed like a good hire for both sides.

Glad Purdue went with him and not Monken, I hope he stays til we are in the market next year.

just looked up his age and he’s only 61. Surprised how young he is given his career.

Thst is surprising. Thst means he was in his mid 40s when he struck it big at WVU the first time. I definitely thought he was older than that
