Worth every penny.
Youāll get 6 and youāll like it.
Tony and Des will be running our team at a .400 clip until the ACC-Big East merger in the 2030s.
Been an exciting offseason for sure. Make or break for the coaches. Either they succeed and we get 7 wins or more, or you absolutely have to cut bait. With our schedule, and this influx of talent/depth, NO excuses.
Its the perfect set up honestly. Success is completely up to the staff and if they canāt do it then removing them is cut and dry. In the meantime the school has shown they are willing to invest in the program and support a successful staff which will encouraging for potential candidates. And whoever takes over wont be inheriting a barebones closet.
Well said. Iām cautiously optimistic, Dragon
My fear is the aforementioned 6 wins. I donāt think it is nearly good enough with what this roster now is, but I have negative faith in our admin to cut bait at 6 wins.
My even bigger fear is we do well enough defensively for Rud to get poached and then we come back off of 6 wins (and a possible Elliott extension?) without by far our best assistant and spiral in mediocrity for another half decade with no hope.
The last thing Iām worried about is coaches being poached.
Possible yes but no sense in living in fear over the ultra hypothetical.
The fear of 6 wins and running it back.is legit and i feel it but am hoping with the investments and apparent parh forward thats not the case.
Living in fear over ultra hypotheticals is my preferred mode of sports fandom. Weāre talking on a message board for peteās sake.
Preach!
Personally think the bar should be 8 wins (pre-bowl game). They built a senior laden team entering Year 4 and in my opinion itās a fairly favorable schedule.
7-5 or even 6-6 is an improvement but plenty of coaches around the country doing that with less.
(Iām not considering bowl game results in those records purposefully.)
This part is key. All of our home games are very winnable. Wake and WSU are bringing in new coaches and will have a ton of roster turnover. Even our road game against State is very winnable as theyāre losing everybody. There isnāt a game on the calendar we arenāt capable of winning unlike last year which had 3 such games.
For once in a long time, we are actually going to have some serious BEEF on the Oline
Boom!!!
Interesting to note he was a backup at Illinois but played a lot at Michigan State. Rated average by PFF. Clearly has the size to be effective, and he was highly sought after last offseason when he committed to Illinois.
You called it well done sir
What if we add moreā¦
Wyatt and Wigenton are certainly upgrades from Furnish & Nnanna. If Wilson is anywhere near as good as Stevens, the OL should be meaningfully improved.
Do we have more room? Whatās left to add? DB obviously, maybe a WR?
He will be well-coached at least. Bialema can coach up an OL. Doesnāt mean the kid is a difference maker but it does mean he know what to do and how to do it.
