The dirty secret that no one talks about with the portal. I believe the number of entrants to spots is something like 5/1. Somebody is going to get their feelings hurt.

Is it possible that some of those guys were going to get cut from the team, but now they are technically āentering the portalā and probably wouldnāt have found a new home anyways?

Anything is possible. But getting cut is not likely. Demoted or recruited over? Sure.

Iāve been a little surprised we arenāt connected to bigger names in the portal given the hype from that donation, but these guys being offered do have a much higher level of teams also offering them.

I had a similar thought. But they are building and adding linemen so thatās a little different.
But I do worry itās more of the same olā UVA of walk softly and carrying a quiet stick.

I donāt think it matters how much money is donated right now. Wouldnāt want to hop on a sinking ship. The timing of that donation was honestly poor

I mean the same couldāve been said for Michigan 2 weeks ago. Then boom Portnoy and Jolin get Bryce Underwood, good vibes start to flow, and they beat tOSU.
Hate to be that guy but honestly money controls college sports right now. Anything can be fixed with cash up frontā¦
