It’s clear that we’re making every effort to improve in the trenches. This would be a huge addition

I think we run zone. But I cant recall off the top

No question he has dice hanging from his Camaro’s rear view mirror.

How the hell are we gonna land this dude?? Wonder if it means we expect any attrition

Ain’t no time to protect feelings … out with the bad and in with the better.

We’d have Wyatt, Boley, Steen, and Moss for two tackle spots. Even if you move Steen inside, one of those remaining 3 is looking at a bench role. Could see some Spring attrition in that case which isn’t the worst thing in the world.

ā€œWe could have too much depth in the o-line! Somebody might be benched who expected to startā€ is the type of problem I am begging to have.

Don’t forget Witmer, also a rising RS Senior who gave us a number of starts this year at LT.

Bottom line, yeah, ā€œinterestingā€ is about the only way to describe our approach. Not bad, mind you. But will make the position battle something to watch.

Honestly if Mills pushes Boley out of a starting role I take that as a major positive. Boley is solid but Mills is the #1 portal Tackle in this year’s class according to On3. We’ll take the upgrade all day if it’s available.

Could Boley play inside some too? Not sure if he’s better than Josey but he was definitely one of our better OL last year and has 3 years of starting experience.

I think Boley is a tackle all the way. I don’t have any PFF grades to back me up so this is purely anecdotal, but Josey was generally considered our 2nd best OL behind Stevens the last two years.

Numbers are looking real good. Big impovement. Gives hope. Now just need to find a few difference makers in the bag of OL.

Yeah probably, and honestly Boley is average to good, not great by any means. Mills is a clear upgrade, and if you can get an upgrade in the trenches, you have to take it. No time to worry about hurt feelings.

Cam Ross, WR from JMU and formerly of UConn, is visiting. Would be another solid addition

Not Virginia related but interesting. I read last week where Miami had interest in Beck and thought that was strange. But could this be a case of NIL actually talking an athlete into staying rather than being a mid to low round draft picks.

A probably minor, potentially major detail in all this is that Carson Beck is dating one of the Cavinder twins, who go to Miami.

Forgot about that I’m sure it probably helped on multiple fronts especially knowing how well the Twins are tapped into NIL opportunities
