I would really hope that they don’t add any guaranteed money for anything short of like 10 wins and any threats to leave or whatever are met with “it was a pleasure working with you.”
Pry signed a 6 year deal so he has 3 years left right now. VT doesn’t seem to be in any rush to extend his deal yet, so maybe we have more time.

This is more of me being a nerd than it is a reply to you (so apologies in advance), but I generally find it unfair to look at “N-win” seasons when we’re comparing recent seasons to really old ones. Back in the day they’d play 10 or 11 games (and there were way fewer bowls to get a +1). So an old-school 7-3 would be roughly equivalent to a modern 9-4 if we really want to compare.
Of course Virginia football usually was like 0-10 back in the day so

Lol just looked it up: in the 29 years between Guepe and Welsh, we had exactly two winning seasons (6-5 and 7-3). And a couple of 0-10 years in there two (back to back). Glory days. Some of y’all remember; I was a kid and aware of the tradition of futility, but my paying attention started with Welsh.

Oh trust me I know. But the way I see it 8-4 or 9-3 doesn’t really move the needle on my thoughts about the season or really the options I think they’d have for a bowl game. 8-4 or 10-2 does though. Just my opinions and viewpoints anyway…
10-2, even with our schedule, is a borderline playoff team. That kind of season leads to an Elliott poach watch.

If someone poaches CTE, then that means no buyout which means we get Al Golden for cheap while still having the money to pay the players that elevated CTE to poachable.

Anyone know why Steen went into the portal ?
I always liked the Steen family story of dad or grandfather being a Marine. Older brother going to good school Vanderbilt then last year at Alabama. Playing well in NFL. Our player coming to good school . Hopefully he finished his degree.
How many more OL do we need for a very good starting line ? and how many do we need for a solid 2 deep ?

It’ll be by committee, this staffs always operated that way. The depth that theyve been able to acquire since November has been kinda surreal to witness. We’ll now be able to view Des scheme as it was meant to be performed with the requisite talent on the line and among the RBs
