George Washington is in town for a 3:00 game today. It’s the first of two games against GW this year as UVA returns the trip on March 30.
It’s also the season opener for George Washington, so we don’t know how they’re playing yet. But last season, they were a .500 team and were picked 8 out of 13 in preseason Atlantic 10 polls.
As long as the offense isn’t still asleep, this should be a win.
Easy 11-1 win today.
Nate Savino retired the first 9 or 10 batters he faced. The bats showed some life up and down the lineup today which was the biggest positive takeaway.
Lots of young players got to play as well. Our top recruit, Kyle Teel, also made his debut as a mid game pinch hitter at DH. He drew a walk in his first at bat and then had an RBI single in his next.
We’re off until Friday where we hit the road again for another ACC series. This time it’s off to FSU who also lost their ACC opening series last weekend (they were swept at home by Pitt). Both teams will be desperate for a series win, so it should be a fun time (as long as we win).
