Butler’s 42% came from shooting 5-12. Weren’t you making the small-sample-size argument when it came to plus-minus? (which I agree with btw, but I think it applies here as well)

Comparing Butler’s shooting-in-a-ballroom to Virginia’s shooting-in-a-ballroom requires a statistically relevant large sample size? I was making a comparison, not arguing that the ballroom actually improved Butler’s shooting. The point I made is that you can’t blame the ballroom for Virginia’s poor shooting any more than you can credit it for Butler’s hot shooting.

There is a study of the impact of non-traditional environments (the deck of an aircraft carrier, ballrooms, etc) on shooting and it found they made no difference beyond typical variance with the slight exception that cavernous domes have a modest negative impact.

If Virginia shoots well today from beyond the arc, don’t forget to give me credit.
