I told you all in the summer practice report thereâs a major emphasis on getting out in transition, so yeah I completely expect them to play faster. Still havenât heard any details of what theyâre doing in a halfcourt set but had someone tell me a few days ago itâs totally different and looks pretty good. Definitely big changes coming, more modernized. Just a question if TB will stick with it through the inevitable bumps in the road. I think he has to.

Interesting. I have the not-widely-shared view that both tempo and our offensive strategy only needed tweaking insofar as it would instill confidence in our guys. Otherwise you arenât addressing the root cause, which imo is way more about coaching quirks and culture.
Not sure a wholesale change was required to give them that confidence ( we saw guys play plenty confident in the 2014-2019 years). But if this helps with the confidence while maintaining a comparable level of defense, then by all means, fine by me.
As HGN said, will be interesting to see how Tony handles it if the pace / style seems to impact us on defensive end.

Yeah I am getting that feeling too. Dunn is such an obvious pitch to him and the momentum seems very positive. I hope that doesnât eliminate us from the Ament sweepstakes though. I really do want to stick in with him for the duration.

Thereâs a difference between fast and faster. haha Recruits tend to exaggerate what theyâre told, which is obviously the point of emphasizing certain things.

In a weird way, I actually believe Tony more if he is talking about playing faster, because historically he hasnât even bothered to blow smoke about being uptempo in the way that many coaches do, beyond saying theyâll run âopportunistically.â
But I agree that the difference between faster and fast is important here, haha.
Also, âthey try to get up a lot of threesâ might actually be more important than the tempo for our offensive ceiling.

Agreed on your last point. A system that gets up better shots is soooooo much more important than pace of play. Slow teams win titles all the time.
