Not sure if this should go somewhere else but there is an incredibly pretentious puff piece about bronco on espn. Sounds like he will be taking another coaching job soon if I had to bet - you don’t have your PR/agent get something like this written if you are actually going to just stay retired.

Won’t lie I struggled to make it through the article. Just plays to my belief that Bronco is full of sh$t. Agree this is an absolute puff piece put together by a PR team with a plan. It’s the politician who leaves office after losing a race, says they need a break then suddenly starts popping up with statements 2 yrs before the primaries open.

Bronco is trying to rewrite the narrative on his time at UVa and why he left to paint it all in a positive light rather than letting the numbers speak for themselves from his tenure at a Power 5.

This article amounts to a story told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.

The humble servant coach building his custom Montana mansion and horse riding estate.

Haha exactly I’m just like you I walked around from $4.8mil after totally close to $10mil in salary in five years. Now I liv eon my estate farming and fly fishing. Just like you.

" DOWN FIVE WITH less than three minutes to play, Virginia had four plays from the Hokies’ 11-yard line, but a 2-yard run and three straight incompletions doomed the drive."

Kindest explanation of that final drive you will ever read. Doesn’t come close to telling the story of the Charlie Foxtrot it was in reality. Reframing history before our eyes.

I am just like you with my very blue collar hobbies I swear having a private horse ranch is just like the blue collar midwesterners on their farms in the 1950s.

I am a humble man of god destroying the earth to build a compound for my vanity hobbies that let me feel like a real man.

I wonder if he can drive to Kanye’s nearby mansion or if he needs to take the helicopter

I mean he hasn’t even gone fly fishing today. Come on guys, it’s a rough simple life he’s living. How’s he gonna managing handling 2 massive personal construction projects?

Side-note did his farm in Albemarle ever sell? We are looking to expand the Dragon Lairs footprint in Central Va.

Yeah it sold already.

We will be an underdog at Syracuse. No breeze whatsoever.

Roger that, figured it go quickly recall it posted at a decent price.

@AnonymooseHoo gets it. I’m sure he jumps on his chopper to tour his properties in between riding multiple horses a day to ensure they get the proper exercise required.

On a seriously note, it will be interesting to see who takes a shot on him when he returns next season. I feel like a Liberty type situation where he is building his on fiefdom from scratch makes the most sense. Also have a hard time seeing him back at a Power 5 again, esp a named one.

Preach to them buddy. Don’t hold back on that disaster of a throw back to a tackle. No one in the country can say that bs about their football team. I know he did some good things but you saw the peak of that program for sure. I’m glad we have what we have right now and no one can convince otherwise.

With leaving BYU and UVA seemingly randomly, it does seem like a hard sell to big time school.

Assuming money isn’t going to be a driving factor, I could see one of the FCS or smaller programs in Big Sky country being a match.

If I were his wife, I’d be pissed about building the dream spot in Montana only to have to vacate it so quickly.

But maybe it’s in commute, or helicopter flight, range of some football options.

Montana is prob a good job for him. To be honest with you.

Does anyone know where he got his babies names from?

Yeah, this is something that has always made me roll my eyes about Bronco. He had a bad end to the season, was burnt out, and decided to go spend his millions. Makes sense to me. But this:

"Mendenhall assesses situations like an algorithm, processing the same questions over and over, adding new information as it becomes available, then producing the optimal response.:

Huh? What in God’s name is that nonsense? Is the author trying to say that he thinks? Thoughts? I mean, wow, amazing. The author described how a brain works. Bronco has a brain and it (sometimes) works. That’s the story. Fin.

What are they?

On that note @KarlHess Got to think it’s somewhat rough on the family to move from Utah to Va, live in a trailer or whatever story he told for that yr to build the “dream home” in Albemarle just to sell it move 2500 miles away and do it all again 4 yrs later.

If anything he’s had a knack for getting out before the walls close in. Know a few who were close to the BYU program at the time when he left and there was rumblings about him and his choices in leading the program. Obviously we know what happened in Charlottesville.

I’m just sayin and always have. If I’m a defense guy and I witnessed what We had as a defense. I prob would’ve just kicked myself in nuts for being a idiot for letting that happen. Ofcourse with all due respect.

You could also interpret that as being very close to the doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. Or the definition of insanity as I’ve heard it described.

A fine line between insane and genius. Not sure Bronco realizes what side of it he’s on.
