The opening ceremony was stupid. But the athletes did nothing wrong.
U-S-A!

I loved hearing about the triathlete who tried to build up his E. coli tolerance by not washing his hands leading up to the event. Great way to get people to stay out of your way in the Olympic Village.
It has nothing to do with any of that, I shouldnāt have really wrote this, to some it would be political and I would never start a political argument . Just forget it and let me know when any Hoos are playing
3x3 basketballā¦when did this start? and why?
I mean, break dancing is an Olympic sport now - give it another couple years and weāll be seeing Quidditch.
That these guys took silver in L.A. in '84, while Special K, Turbo and Ozone took gold was a travesty.
Your late to my entire bit. Less time following recruiting and more time following my rambling
They need to go ahead and rename 3x3 as backyard basketball, thatās what it is. Should be played outdoors on a hoop purchased at wal-mart with a garden hose nearby to refresh during timeouts.
Genius idea really
NBC really needs to stop with the constant celebrity cam.
Not a Hoo but heās a Virginia kid and went to the same high school/had the same track coach as I did, which is shocking, so I have to shout out Noah Lyles. Remember the Titans the sequel. Go USA!
Six demerits for the announcers and NBC coverage of that race. My god it was terrible.
Really called it for the Jamaican right off the bat. MAMADI FOR THE WIN
That was the first crazy thing.
THEN sat there in silence after Lyles was walking around celebrating. Had no idea what was happening! I thought Lyles had silver because the Jamaican had gold, as per their announcement. Took them 30 seconds of that to say anything.
Then the graphics. No times or medals on the screen. No photo finishes or multiple angles of the finish. It was bizarre.
Cut them some slack. Too busy finding celebs in the crowd. Who gives a shit about the actual events? Itās all about whoās watching.
It was worse than CBCs coverage of the 10k
Man as someone who did cross country, I could never fathom running more than 2 miles on track only.
Anything beyond the 800 is pointless.
Itās definitely different and kind of weird to watch, but I donāt hate it. Looking at the wiki for 3x3, itās been around longer than I thought.
Also saw this, thought it was interesting and provided some perspective for me
Concur especially with the Olympics where the longer races never lead to records of any kind as the runners just stay close and wait for the final lap to sprint it out.
I got bored running anything longer than a 1600/mile on a track as @Hooandtrue noted. Cross country was much better.
