For those who can stomach another RD article this one’s pretty good:
A few new pieces of info:
- worked on his steps
- This quote spurred on my inner amateur psychologist: “[Bud] said the coaching staff has encouraged the rookie to try to “knock the door down, try and find a way to contribute and compete and be on the court.” At UVa, his defense got him onto the court and his shooting was only a risk to take him off the court. In the NBA, the defense got him drafted, but it won’t keep him on the court. Shooting threes WILL help him see the court. So it goes from a potential detriment to a potential opportunity.
Basketball is 90% physical and the other half is mental.
agree
I think everyone including Dre wishes he was traded. It’s been a bad situation for him the last few years. They gave him a great contract, which is great for him, but they never really put him in a position to succeed on the court.
Would not be surprised if Dre is moved by the deadline. It just hasn’t worked out in Atlanta. The roster make-up, the coaching changes it’s all too much to overcome. Toss in while the fanbase does not dislike him, they are ambivalent to him being on the roster which may be most damning when you think about a top 5 draft pick.
I hope for Dre’s sake that GMs see how important PJ Washington was for Dallas down the stretch last year and hope that he can do something similar in the right situation. Not a one-for-one comparison player-wise but does give me hope if Dre got traded to like Indiana or something
Yeah I’ve been following it, didn’t realize there had been so much recent chatter in the media about it though
Anyone want a distraction from the shitty news, RD on the floor right now vs Lakers. TNT
Tuned in to see Dunn miss his two first threes.
Clearly Tony’s fault
Leading all players with a +13 though!
Ryan Dunn. Name sounds familiar. Is he from way back in the Bennett era?
Ancient history, man. Ancient history.
Sigh.
Hit his first three of the night. At +21
Offensively, he’s been providing a ton of spacing. Had a bad pass from a teammate but would have had a fast break dunk.
Been an absolute menace defensively. They have him mostly guarding the guards.
Also…TNT team loving him. Pretty much only talk about Dunn for the last 5 min of gameplay haha
Should I move this to the “Remembering Some Guys” thread?
ROY at +5000, eh? Hmm.
Ended the game poorly. A turnover on offense and then the Lakers attacked him three straight possessions.
Forced a switch on to Anthony Davis two straight possessions. One ended in an “and 1”, the other in a bucket.
They tried again in the next possession, he fought through the screen but then D Russell coaxed him into a three point foul that fouled him out for the game.
Braxton Key was on a training camp deal with the Clippers, got waived today
