Well Trey has been out with injury so far and will be for a bit, hasnāt played a game yet this season. But I expect heāll be back doing TMIII things when he plays again
From what I get, āstandardā contract means league minimum. But thatās based on experience (2-way and G-league counts)ā¦so Jay should get 2.2M this year with about a $200K increase each year. Is that all guaranteed? No idea.
Awesome news. Way to go, Jay!
He looks like a Grizzly, too.
I believe thatās guaranteed! But will defer to @4547Lambeth who is the go-to for contract stuff (and Astoria eats)
Spotrac is my go-to, and they donāt have the updated details yet, but the Grizz did a similar kind of deal with Scotty Pippen Jr and Vince Williams in recent years, and both got 3 yrs guaranteed:
I think he still would be considered a 0 years of experience guy, so the minimum is only 1.1 mil, 1.8 next year, 2 mil year 3 and 2.3 or thereabouts year 4. Doubt any of it is guaranteed unless he makes the roster for that particular year. 24-25 likely gets fully guaranteed if heās still on the roster by some date in January.
Hunter, Hauser TBD on his back, Jerome, Huff, and Dun are all playing tonight
Iām pretty sure (but not 100%) sure that two way contracts count as NBA years of service. That Scotty Pippen Jr contract I mentioned started at $2M for this season, and he had been on 2 two-ways before being converted.
I thought the sameā¦coulda sworn I had read that before. But google agrees with @4547Lambeth that 2-way contracts donāt count toward NBA experience
Man if thatās the case Memphis might have found a cheat code. Jay is a great 2nd or 3rd option and essentially cost nothing for the foreseeable future
Awesome for Jay professionally and personally. And whatever heās actually going to be making will go substantially further in Memphis than in most NBA markets. No state income tax either.
Impressive too because Memphis has some other good established bigs. Jaren Jackson Jr., Santi Aldama, and they just drafted Edey too.
It kinda sucks if he counts as 0 years experience, but itās also $6.2 million over 4 years, which⦠in non-NBA terms is killing it
Hollinger had a good take on RDās shooting
($$)
UNC having less FGA than FSU was unexpected.
Classic TB players valuing their possessions.
Wait, does that mean there are more UVA alumni in the NBA than UNC alumni? Thatās absolutely wild.
