Yes, and if weāre counting guys like Kessler who left for other schools, before the NBA, that number could also be higher?
I wish Tony had slipped that into his going away presser randomly. āItās been so wonderful and I am sad to say goodbye. Especially now that Virginia has more players in the NBA than Carolina. I did that. Me. Wild⦠Anyway, I love you all - God bless.ā
Well he did, just not with those beautiful eloquent words
The bulls just went on a like 20-0 run on Jay Huff d. That was really hard to watch
But then just made a 3
Tony would have yanked him after the run grew to 4-0
Damn that was bad.
Dunn about to tip off. Thinking he is still starting vs the lakers tonight
Once Jay got switched onto LaVine it was over.
Yup it was bad bad and it kept happening. Beal back in the line up for suns
What was the take? For me was kinda simple
Take was that Dunnās mechanics are largely the same as at UVA, maybe a little cleaner, and that heās probably thinking less when he shoots now.
What AQ said. Also, he led all rooks in made 3s, through Sundayās games.
Wow. And the crowd into it for RD. Thats big time
Ryan Dunn might singlehandedly change the way the NBA teams value defense. Seriously. The way Iāve heard it explained they basically donāt believe in the idea of shutdown defendersā¦they only value versatility, not necessary quality. Because the idea of a guy who can shut down elite NBA players was a falsehood. Until our guy showed upā¦
Because the NBA switches almost everything, itās thought that it doesnāt matter if you have a lockdown defender, offenses will just ball screen you into switches to get the matchups they want against weaker defenders. So itās more important to have a high floor as a defender, AKA not be the worst guy out there, than to have a high ceiling. Itās a āweakest linkā thought process. Would love to see Dunn change that.
Welcome to the Dunngeon is so badass.
Itās a real shame we were too high on Top Dunn because he could fly.
thatās it exactly. Watching the Suns vs Clippers game, they kept putting Dunn in ball screens with Harden, sometimes it took 2-3 tries, to get that switch. Was funny reallyā¦hell of a compliment to him. He was the only guy who could bother Harden, everybody else got eaten up.
Thereās still some level of offensive floor that a guy needs to be playoff playable. I donāt know how to compare Matisse Thybulle to Ryan Dunn, but Thybulle mightāve been the best perimeter defender in the league 3-4 years ago, but he couldnāt stay on the floor because teams didnāt defend him and it clogged up the lane for Embiid.
