Was listening to the Lowe Post podcast today and there was a comment about Hunter. Apparently besides his inability to stay healthy, word on him is that he’s a slow processor and decision maker with the ball. Coming out of college, there was a concern that his shot was slow, but maybe the slow shot wasn’t a physical thing, but a mental thing. He seems to hesitate before deciding what to do when he gets the ball. Thinking too much about the right decision. Do we want to attribute that back to the Bennett offensive system of looking for the best shot and not just the first good shot? I don’t think so, but throwing this out there for discussion.

or, Trey is a ball hog. :grinning: Dre is playing well since he moved to the 2nd unit. Another 20 pt night tonight.

I see it as a part but I would not blame Dres current play on what he learned at UVA when he hasn’t played a game for CTB in 5 years. That descision making process is just part of his DNA for better or for worst.

The reality is for as great as Dre was for the Hoos his offense was dependent on being set up or his athleticism. Those were nulified by injuries in the NBA, better more athletic defenders and playing alongside Trey.

I don’t think Young is a guy you can win with in the playoffs if he’s the best player in the team, but he is #2 in the league in assists. Ball dominance and heliocentric ball is common in the NBA these days.

Trey is a nightmare for most teams because he’s far too good to give up on but like you said he can’t be the focus No. 1 on your team

I think if the Hawks can get maybe 2-3 firsts and a couple swaps from the Lakers, that could be a win-win. Young is clearly the #3 in that lineup and he’s the new guy so he can’t pull rank. Eases the playmaking load off a 40 year old LeBron. Hawks get to start over and try to build around Johnson and Murray and the picks and swaps with a post-LeBron Lakers might be pretty valuable.

Don’t know how to make the salaries match though. Would have to be Russell, Rui/Vanderbilt plus Vincent I guess. Doubt you’re trading Reeves.

Changing gears real quick to a cooler and better Trey.. TMIII led the Pels in scoring tonight in a win over the Knicks. 26 pts on 9/14 FG. 7 reb 4 ast also.

That was a ding sorta even in his draft profile. Eg, Couldn’t set other guys up.

I never hesitate to blame Tony, but I think this isn’t on him. (I do blame him for not taking better advantage of RD’s innate offensive IQ, not a typo)

Also, where was the Popeyes in Astoria? Why do I not remember that? Wait… was it by 21st?

Steinway just south of Broadway. Close to the entrance to the R on the west side of Steinway. It closed like a year after I moved out of Astoria.

Oh duh, Steinway is north-south. And that explains why I didn’t know of it ( probably good for my cholesterol)

Yeah like Carmelo and Bradley Beal.

Those kinda guys that you can pair in a Big Three and still not win a championship.

Yeah if we saw a trend with our other NBA guys I might give credence to this. The coaches had to urge Hunter in the championship game to be more assertive.

I watch just about every Pelicans game on League Pass, and Trey has been in a bit of a slump. Was good to see him play well last night.

The Pels announcing team (Joel Meyers & Antonio Daniels) absolutely love Trey, and when he was heating up against the Knicks, it was like listening to 2 fans get excited

Triggaaaaa

They the ones that came up with that phenomenal nickname?

Yep, that was AD. Love him…my favorite announcer all around. Knows the league from playing so long, good at breaking down what’s going on…admittedly is a little slanted towards the Pels, but extremely energetic and makes the game fun to watch. Not always easy with NBA games, because the crowd atmosphere just isn’t there like CBB until the playoffs start.
