In case anyone wanted to see how a domestic team distribution to the Euro leagues go… below is Turkey…
Also… for those keeping track at home for UVa-based Turkish players… there is only one match day remaining in the Basketbol Süper Ligi (Turkish BSL)… Maryol Shayok’s team Bursaspor is currently tied at 43 points for the last playoff spot, but in 9th due to points differential… they need a Beşiktaş (may be familiar if you follow European football) to lose on 2 May as Bursaspor won their round 30 game to make the playoffs for a shot at Eurocup. Darion Atkins team needs a win on 8 May along with a loss by ALİAĞA PETKİM SPOR the same day to avoid relegation to the Turkish second division.

So Jerome’s team won what’s basically the 4th tier Europe-wide competition? Or are the FIBA-run competitions more parallel in team quality to the EuroLeague and EuroCup as opposed to being under them?
Jerome’s team won the EuroCup… not the FIBA EuroPE Cup (confusing since they are named so similar). Their win got them into Euroleague next year.

@AdventiveQuasar I forgot to answer the second part of your question. FIBA actually tried to take over the Euroleague and Euro Cup but something broke down politically… not privy to all the details. Instead FIBA created their own two tournaments w/ entry based on domestic standings, however most teams would rather try to win the Euro Cup to gain access to Euroleague due to the money.
Of note… in order to qualify for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, you must win the FIBA Champions League instead of Euroleague… however currently the US NBA Champion declines inclusion, so take the prestige for what it is worth.
Awesome wrap up. It’s amazing how many Hoos are getting it done around the globe. A true goldennage of Virginia basketball

@AdventiveQuasar European basketball is so confusing… there are so many in-season International tournaments. It confuses me just as easily as everyone else.

Ulm down at halftime to Chemnitz 44-41… they’re shooting over 50% from the field, but Chemnitz is shooting well over 60%! Wilkins has 5 points, 1 rebound and a turnover in a little under 7 minutes.
Update: Ulm comes roaring back to take a 72-65 lead after 3 quarters… Wilkins with a monster block and two free throws!
Edit: If anyone is wondering… Milicic is not on the roster for tonight’s game.

5 pts in a 12 min quarter? Well we know Igor must be learning some defensively fundamentals at practice

Ah… well 10 mins makes it slightly better I guess a bucket every 2 mins…
Isaiah’s & Igor’s team in semi-final of the BBL Pokal (in-season cup) vs. Bayern Munich in 5 minutes (1600 CEST)! In the graphic is says “Can Ulm surprise Bayern on Saturday?”… so they are the underdog.

Wilkins at scorers table… Ulm down 8 at the end of the end of the first quarter.
Announcer just said Wilkins is the best defender on the Ulm team…
Ulm getting dominated at halftime… 49 - 36. Wilkins in 4 and a half minutes w/ 4 points all at free throw line… his one miss was a bunny that should’ve gone in. Just a weird bounce.
Only down 1 after 3! 69 - 68! Wilkins quiet in the 3rd during comeback only in for less than 2 minutes.
Beginning of hte 4th… Wilkin offensive rebound, assist to 3-pointer! Lead!
