I think that has been a UVA athletics-wide style change over the last 5 years or so. They don’t really do the game recap style of videos anymore, and just show all the best UVA plays.
None of this is that important. I mostly keep this up because I find it somewhat amusing. 75% amusing. 25% frustrating.
They’re shit for intrigue too if I’m being honest
Yup. Have noticed it across all sports. I get it for appealing to the youths, but I do miss the longer full compilations. Fortunately, at least during the regular season, ACC Digital Network on Youtube usually has full game highlights including almost all meaningful plays for football and basketball. That’s where I go a lot.
You’d think this is the kind of think they could build out on ACC Network. Have the normal videographer take some decent clips. Splice it together with some touristy stuff. Do that for the few teams on an overseas trip, and you’d have a half decent 30-60 minute show.
And, tbh, the ACC Network putting it in the contract is about the only way this is gonna get better.
Looks like you are primed…
For the season
Watching the Hoos
Is always a good reason
To be watching some ball
That is all
Meh- I ain’t mad at it. If I saw some dookies I may ring out a chorus of boos while passing by. I doubt the guy was *really offensive, unless he lacks complete self awareness like Auburn fans lol!
So Tony and JWilly wanted Traudt to go to the boards more eh? Are we changing our phillosophy on offense…food for though ![]()
Hating having a Bond missed dunk be part of the highlights…
Oh I’m liking that Traudt spin move, after the *dunk attempt.
Rushdacote just posted his thoughts on TheSabre, gives some good insight into how the game went and what stood out to him wrt some of the guys in our rotation.
Main takeaways are that he seems to believe Papi starting over Shedrick might be a sign of what we’re gonna see to begin the season, Traudt needs to get stronger but has an incredibly high ceiling offensively, and Dunn is a tremendous athlete but isn’t comfortable with his shot or in half court sets.
Isaac Traudt is a significant add to this Virginia squad.
A pick and pop weapon. And a rebounding machine. Also opens the floor up better for our offense. ACC-ready body. Quite the recruiting win!
I do disagree about the Papi/Kadin who starts and it seems its moreso his opinion than an assistant coach directly telling him that.
But otherwise his insights are great.
Someone mentioned the Dunn poster from game 1 not being released. I didn’t record it unfortunately (I think I got a dunk of his today, watch HooTV in a week or so…) I told Stelios, the UVA video guy, “Get that clip to the social media guy!” and he said talk to the social media guy. I will next game. I want the world to see that Dunnk.
I think I will live-post here next game. No shade at The Sabre, which I love, but I love it here too, and this will be repayment for Hooz Got Next recruiting posts, a much better board format, and misspelling Beeks’ first name over and over and over. I think I’ll never get it right, so from now on I will only write “Beeks.”
Yeah want to make clear that looks to be strictly his opinion, not anything that’s been told to him.
No assistant coach told me anything. I was just pointing out that the starting line ups are definitely NOT random. Clearly starters here are ahead of bench in the rotation on average. Kadin/Papi will be a close case. I said it is either a tie or Papi is ahead based on today’s start for Papi.
Got it. Could be auditioning as well with each getting a chance. Of course he might not want to stay all the years he has left but Kadin technically has 3 years left with the covid year.
I do want to thank you @rushdacote for both your input and also the last time UVA was in spain I remember refreshing for you and sfb’s updates
Reece!! is the correct spelling. Enjoy Italy
I think there’s some merit to having Shedrick come off the bench and avoid early foul trouble. As long as he’s still getting starter minutes, that’s all that really matters.
