This write up tells me you are in the 1percent of hoop knowledge fans. First part about ball movement by them etc is exactly euro hoops from what I have seen

Does anyone know for how long MEGA has been practicing together this summer? Did they just come together a few weeks ago? Have they been practicing all summer? Just a bit curious.

Yup, August 1
In 18-19, we shot 39.5% in 3PA/FGA, today we were like 28 or 29%. There were a LOT of possessions today.
I can’t wait until Final Four Weekend when CTB is telling the story of the Serbian team that changed our season.

Look, there a lot of good reasons to discount this game, but there are also some bad ones.
Good reasons:
- It’s only one game
- We are not playing these games with the main object of winning (so, e.g., Tony wants to spread PT more than in a for real game)
- We are trying to have some fun and learn some stuff; not scouting Mega. Not doing our normal prep.
Bad reasons:
- “We were overwhelmed by a talented Euro pro team.” → Mega is a solid Euro team, but that’s not Kentucky or Duke-level talent on that team. Durisic could go mid-to-late first if he’s lucky, but I don’t know of other Jovic/Jokic level guys on their current team. Good talent, but not talent that should blow us up. One guy is 27 and played college hoops at Montana. Has bounced around Europe. Most of the other guys are 17-23 or so.
- “They’ve played together much longer.” → Not really; their tenures look roughly like a college team. Some there a few years. Most 1 or 2. A few new guys. So basically the same.
- “They’ve been practicing together for longer.” → Nope, shorter. Practice started August 1.
Look, we played a good Euro team with good young talent. We didn’t play Marcioulonis and Sabonis. Hopefully we look better tomorrow night. If not, nobody should give up on tourney hopes, but nor should folks ignore it if they want some insight on our team.

Before I saw the math I was already gonna say that is bad offense to score 73 points in a 40 minute game with a 24 second shot clock …. The stats confirm that’s less than a point per possession … that’s bottom tier ACC production…. Need to get to at least 1.1 per to be a top 20 type team.
