I’m more excited about Malik Thomas and this is our most talented incoming group on the whole in the portal era.

This was a good watch (I watched most of it). I suspect he will have to adapt a bit to the length and athleticism at the P5 level, but he has the tools to do it.
As Cuts said, great body control, great footwork, and solid quickness.

Agree with @haney that there will be some adjustment. A lot of finesse and footwork to his game, not plus acceleration - which can play but will take some time to adjust to the quick pace and athletes in P5 v Summit league (where Rohde also had success). He’s got ball skills and a good shooter with quick release.
I do think Odom’s offensive style and having two other ball handlers and shooters in Hall and Thomas are going to open up some lanes for him, but would guess there will be more scoring from the spot up initially.
Edit: Also not making a direct comparison to Rohde. Think he’s a much better scorer, ball handler and athlete

I hope he spends a lot of time this summer playing against P5 caliber competition. Whether it’s Kenner (if that’s still a thing) or whatever. He needs to play against bigger, faster, more athletic dudes to get to a comfort level.

Where does Odom’s offense (and defense too if you know) originate from? Do they resemble his dad’s or Terry Holland’s or Jeff Jones’ or Seth Greenberg’s? Or are they original creations taken from here and there and constantly evolving?
I wouldn’t say I’m an authority on all of those systems - but Odom is the type of coach to pull a little from here, a little from there, implement something new he’s seen or likes, etc.
He’s spoken previously about many of his offensive concepts being inspired by watching the European game back when he was with Charlotte.

I think it was in the Jeff White article on Griff, but Griff said Odom’s schemes are a lot more sophisticated than when they first coached together.

My more serious options are:
- How are you going to approach getting a team with so many new and 1-year guys to gel?
- What do you most need from the GM role?
- How do you define a good shot in your offense?
- How do you think about positions/roles in your system? Traditional PG-through-Center or something different? I.e. what’s his version of Blockers and Movers?
