I think @JBHoo summed it up best. If the FSU game serves as the kickoff to something special it may go down as one of if not the most important game all time. If this is the highlight of the season, then the importance of the game will fade as time passes.
And conversely, I think a lot of folks say that 2019 VPI game was bigger because it was the last time we beat em. Meaning the significance has grown as time has gone on.
If we can start beating VPI on the reg again, the importance of that one fades.
