What in the world is free time?? Never heard of it but it sounds nice

Itā€™s a mythical entity that doesnā€™t exist anymore. Gone the way of Sasquatch, The Loch Ness Monster, and open shots early in the shot clock.

Excellent recommendation. Very fun read

All my books are consumed through audio books while Iā€™m driving and working outā€¦ itā€™s my only free time.

The original MB trilogy is one of those I wish I could go back and read for the first time again. The ending is outstanding.

Have you read Warbreaker? It serves as a prequel for several characters that show up in Stormlight by a different name.

Iā€™ve never been to a convention before, but decided to go to Dragonsteel for the Wind and Truth release. Something different from my usual traveling to watch UVA lose at sports. Haha.

Iā€™m waiting for book 2 to come out before starting this series, but I really liked his first series (the Licanius trilogy).

Have not read War Breaker, but it sounds interesting. I plan on taking a Sanderson break after mistborn era 1 and Stormlight 5, but I own tress of the emerald sea, Yumi and the nightmare painter, and sunlit man. Iā€™ve heard Tress is phenomenal

WOT may be favorite (completed) series of all time, but itā€™s also hard to recommend because itā€™s very long and some people just canā€™t stand it.

I totally get waiting (see GoT and Kingkiller Chronicles). Havenā€™t read the Licanius Trilogy yet.

Yeah, it has been a slog for me. Really enjoying Sandersonā€™s injection here in the last three and hoping the payoff is worth it.

Yeah thereā€™s no rush. Youā€™re in a good spot having plenty of books to work through. I started reading him some time after Words of Radiance came out, so there was lots to read, but now it stinks having to wait for the next one (even as fast as he is).

@chavlicek15 You should look up Sooley by John Grishamā€¦ he said the story was inspired loosely on Mamadiā€¦ itā€™s not Mamadiā€™s story per say, but he said he gave him the inspiration.

@chavlicek15 was the first person in the USA to read The Firm. Some trivia for you there

Tress is great. My favorite of the ā€œSecret Projectā€/Kickstarter books Sanderson released.

Its a good trilogy and I really liked the twists and turns as the characters evolve (It takes place overā€¦ 5 years? 10 years? Time gets a little funky at some points), but those books are HUGE. The trilogy had to be 2000-2500 pages, so its a commitment.

Anyone read Sword of Kaigen?

No, but the Goodreads reviews look really good, so itā€™s on my want to read list now.

Iā€™ve read a handful of Asian inspired stories that people love and never been able to power through a full series (read 1.5 green bone saga, 1 three body, 1.5 poppy war, 1 dandelion dynasty) and Iā€™ve heard sword of Kaigen is top top tier so hoping to like it

Also a favorite outside of sci fi and fantasy: Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy. Family drama in South Carolina following a destructive family for basically their whole lives. Have yet to see someone who can turn a phrase like Conroy, you could find a sentence on any page worthy of committing to memory
