I don’t know if you go back far enough to know it’s origin, but early in my message board career, late 1990s, I would make predictions and as obvious and sure as they appeared to be, they all turned out wrong. I mean EVERYONE would predict Joe So and So was going to commit to UVA and once I did, he’d end up somewhere else. So I decided that I would always predict the recruit going elsewhere. I’ve stuck with that practice for more than 20 years.
I once won two crystal beer mugs from a football recruit prediction contest on the Sabre by predicting the entire list of UVA targets to go elsewhere.
You don’t want me predicting recruits to commit to UVA, you really don’t.
