Perfect backup 5 imo. Still about of untapped potential here. Let’s hope we get the Kentucky version!
Even if he can just match what he did in 2024 at Kentucky production wise, that’ll be plenty enough with Grünloh leading the way. Really pleased with this add
I was cautiously optimistic when it appeared we were going to get him but had no sense of where things stood with Grünloh. With Grünloh on board, this feels like a no doubter exciting add.
Every day we’re portalin’…
How long has that been in the can lol
About 9 days
Odom knows how to play the portal game but with 10 million and spots to fill helped. I wonder what TB is thinking about this…
Are we 100% sure it will be Tillis starting and not twin towers with Ugo and Grünloh?
The Grünloh-Ugo pairing would be such a nightmare for opposing teams in the paint, and Grünloh seems like he can provide the shooting offensively, just not sure how he’d hold up against quicker 4s.
Watch the clips of Onyenso at Kentucky. He was highly versatile defensively vs. 4s and 5s, and they’d switch with him in as to where he’d guard some wings, too.
Odom likes 4 out, and Grünloh is best working off screens.
Tillis could be really solid. He was one UC irvine botched layup from being the NIT mvp.
Not sure we want either of the 5s guarding on the perimeter too much
@haney compiled the Odom frontcourts throughout the year here:
I’d be really surprised if Tillis didn’t start. And honestly he’s gonna play a ton of minutes. I don’t see Grünloh and Onyenso playing much together.
I think we’re all really going to love Tillis and how well he connects the offensive pieces we have. His passing from the 4 spot, with his shooting, is such an asset. He’s a Justyn Mutts glue guy type in that regard (better shooter, less athletic)
I like the Bonzie Colson comp. Not as long or athletic but similar skillsets.
