Dex’s son is or was a wrestler at Mason. I think he has 2 other daughters.
Man, I feel old. I graduated the same year as Dex and he has college aged kids and I have preschool aged kids.

2024 PVI guard Williford is recruiting. Odds he ends up at UVA? Im starting with -40%.
Tony and Williford better be camped in Florida for Dylan James and then Philly for Al Amadou (I want both, our roster should have 2-3 Mamadi types at all times). And then head over to North Carolina for Jarin Stevenson in 2024 and Paul McNeil too

Willford’s recruiting assignments are the weirdest to me. He always seems to be on the DMV kids and Florida athletic prep school kids that we never land. I guess somebody has to keep track of them. Looking forward to hearing about him being at some IMG event soon.

Whenever Williford takes over a program, whether it be here as the next coach a la Hubert Davis/Sheyer or another program, the recruiting profile is going to be VERY different I think LOL.
HGN has alluded to it but Williford is a huge presence in the recruiting world even if we don’t land kids in those spheres hes always in (DC, Texas, Florida prep scene). Im sure he’ll be at IMG for that Jacoi Hutchinson kid but also to watch his nephew Kwame Evans Jr (who is probably Kentucky or Duke bound).

- plays at IMG (so a no go).

We are so distracted with our own coaching search, many aren’t seeing the shitshow that is happening at Louisville right now. It’ never seems right with them lol. President stepping down. AD quit and wants to go to FSU but now isn’t.
Do wonder if 2023 Kaleb Glenn becomes available. Seems like a hometown hero commit but he would bring that bruiser 4 along with the athleticism to protect the rim some.

I would think that having a family member that is an associate head coach of a program that’s won a national championship since either of the only two schools 5*'s seem to consider have, would at least make it a possibility.

Yeah but he’s going to go to Kentucky and get paid fat stacks in NIL deals and branding. His family member will still be his family member.

If the first case, they’ve know each other for Jr.’s entire life and I suspect JWilly would’ve had a hand in Jr’s basketball training. Hard not to go play for Uncle there.
If the second case, maybe the relationship’s more distant and they don’t see each other that often. Easier to turn JWilly down there.
If the third case, they’ve probably barely ever been together.
