Odom went on a heater of a HS recruiting run, getting Bam, Brandon Jennings (not the Brandon Jennings that Haney bet would win ROTY**), Terence Hill Jr., and Chance Mallory (plus maybe we can add Barksdale soon?) in back-to-back years.
Then his evil friend Griff convinced him not to recruit HS for a year. Griff has been exiled now, so maybe Odom will return to his HS recruiting ways.
** Anyone remember who won it? Hint, it wasn’t Steph Curry…
2 eybl periods have happened (maybe one is currently happening).
Couldnt name a single 2027 kid off the top of my head outside the top 2 centers only cause they were possible reclasses.
And going to be honest I have little to no interest tuning in this year (even though the 2027 class will be foundational in providing quality depth moving forward at a minimum).
Think with less portal maybe that will change but am starting to grow more interested in overseas basketball for scouting purposes.
Gimme 2-4 guys I can watch by Peach Jam and I’ll be happy
I mean the staff has made a bunch of 2027 offers. Currently 10 that are public… but do offers mean anything anymore when there is money involved? I don’t really think so… none of the below care about getting to know the coach or feel for the university. They are waiting for the bottom line figure.

I don’t have much clue, tbh. Seems like he was 100+ and then jumped into the top 100, but based on what, I have no clue.
It’s much harder to find info on HS guys than it was just a couple years ago. I’m looking for HS highlights, stats, AAU highlights, and it’s taking some time. There’s some terrible baseline cam stuff from Pangos that shows him getting some dunks. Cool, thx.

Took a quick peak at the EYBL steams….there’s Odom and Henry watching two TX teams, AB Elite vs JL3. They offered Beckham Black for AB. Saw a picture on twitter of Red there too somewhere.
Texas. Awesome. I bet we will have great success there given (1) very little competition and (2) geographical closeness between Texas and Virginia.
I suspect Jordan Hunter will be one to keep an eye on for 2027, they had him down for a little visit last summer. Looks like he’s having a big weekend.

Jordan Hunter and Beckham Black are both 2026 reclass possibilities.
Will be interesting to see if we continue recruiting the Charlotte Duo we hosted on a visit: RJ Moore Jr and Thomas Vickery. I think both have seen an uptick in their recruit rankings.
I also wonder how staff maps out future needs and pitches the vision/playing time in the portal era. Where openings in opportunity are only hypothetical and can be filled with a Euro or vet transfer at any moment.
I imagine a wing and a 6-3/6-4 guard who can co-exist with chance are on the menu
