That’s crazy! I heard they had a lacrosse program too. I played for Strikers, always loved the fields at Striker Park, always in great shape and a joy to play on. Coached there as well out of UVA before moving to AZ.
Nice… Strikers also has a youth rugby program as well… so very well rounded organization.
Apparently there are 30 or 40 teams in the DMV. I remember years ago we rented our rugby pitch out to a team or a league.
Im also convinced cricket is not a real sport. If you can sit and have a snack during the game not a sport.
It’s not a snack… it’s a tea break. Sheesh!
Thats so much worse
Shocking news coming from the competitive eating circuit!!!
That dummy signed a deal with some fake hot dog maker like beyond hot dogs. They proly made out of grass hay and crickets
Yup. We have hit Rock Bottom again.
@jazznutUVA India running under the run rate they need to top the target USA’s batters set…is it happening??
Nah… India willl step it up. Book it.
Dang, you are right. Got destroyed in the 17th over, gave up 15 runs.
T20 is like that… if you dont get the first 4 or 5 wickets the early overs… they can punish you in the late overs as there is no reason to be conservative at all in the last 5 if you’ve conserved your wickets. If you’ve gotten those first 4 or 5 wickets, you’ve eliminated tour batting specialists and are mopping up witht the all rounders and bowler batsmen.
US does not have the elite outswinger to wrist spinner lethal bowl partnerships however.
I really believe Pakistan lost it more than the US won it.
I’m convinced these are just random words.
@AdventiveQuasar See below… I’ve pointed at where the game was lost.
The first number is the number of runs… 110 is not a great T20 total… 180 is a good target for a team… anything over that and the chase is almost impossible… but 110 is not good.
The second number after the back slash is the wickets (how many batters were out)… so the USA lost 8 wickets. It means their bowlers were batting by the end of the 20 overs…
So check this out… one of the US openers (first two batsmen and should be the best two in T20) went up to bat and had an LBW (leg before wicket… this simply means you can only use your bat to block the ball from hitting the wicket… if you use your leg pad to block it and the umpire deems it would’ve still hit the wickets… you are still out… they have a version of Hawkeye that they use in tennis and soccer goalline technology where you can use VAR if challenged) on his first ball. This is called a Golden Duck which means you get 0 runs and are out on your first ball! Not good. The third US batsman only saw 5 balls and provided 2 runs! Fly ball out. Ugh!
India’s opening batsmen did not fair well either. Their second Gold Ducked it as well. Foul tip into the glove of the wicket keeper… which is an out.
What made this an easy Indian win was the US only took 3 wickets and their 4th and 5th batsmen had an 81 run partnership and played more conservative knowing they were only chasing 110 (they only hit 5 6s and 5 4s as a team… which are like home runs and roughly ground rule doubles respectively)… it was a good strategy as if you look at the US stats above again… they were swinging for the fences with 5 of their 8 wickets being fly outs… not good. Batsman up at the end made this easy. Think of it like this… if you were down 2 runs going into the 9th inning of a baseball game… you’d feel much better having the middle of your order coming up. In this case they had that. The US had the equivalent of 3 pitchers at the end… so even worse than any MLB scenario…
Tldr
Most popular sports in the world! Validation for all you cricket fans out there!
@BDragon Rugby is only #9? Embarrassing!
No badminton. Fresh calls bullshit on that list
He probably should get a worse penalty than being banned from the contest. Send him to the front lines in Ukraine or something.
I can get down with this…
Wĥat ever happened to Rock Bottom Brewery? Did that chain go out of business?
