I thought I read the NCAA just went through their archives and standardized their champions list. Not sure what that was aboutā¦
I like this plan by Auburn just make it up. No body going deep dive a credential from 1910.
The purpose of a postseason that is (theoretically) fully participatory is not to be the best way of crowning the champion but to be an efficient way to get agreement on legitimacy when everyone canāt play everyone else. So if you donāt have a mechanism like that, you are kinda left to just making your case the best way you can.
Here it is. They created this championship dashboard (shout out Tableau), which is pretty cool, exceptāsilly meāthereās no such thing as an NCAA D-1 football champion
Doesnāt seem to work well on mobile
The closest they get is in the record book, where they will list multiple teams in a year if multiple were selected by the polls they deem to be a āNational Champion Major Selectorā: FBS.pdf
Starts on p. 117 with an amazing rendition of the history of 42 different polls.
Two things -
(1) I do not recognize Coloradoās 1990 championship. 4 downs only
(2) I like the fact that the record book randomly inserts FACT* in various years. Itās like Tugard compiled this

The 04 one is especially silly, we were all there!! There was a real championship game!!
Spent literally all day in tableau today. You do not under any circumstances gotta shout em out imo
Iāve moved on to shitting on: Dayton, playing hoops in Charlotte, and our noncon scheduling. I will let someone else defend the nerd stuff.
I have nothing interesting to say, but I just saw that itās my cake day so I have to post anyway. Many thanks to the proprietors and the regular clientele of LRA. I cannot imagine a more congenial setting in which to piss away my free time.
Iāve never let that slow me down. Happy cake day
WTF? Whereās my little cake graphic?
Aug 15th based on your join date, but happy belated cake day!
I saw it was mine as well so I had to reply to your post!
If @htraylor and I donāt get our @*!#$&+! cake graphics weāre going back to the Sabre
@jazznutUVA we donāt give in to pressure.
No Cake for them
Cāmon Simbaud - weāve been together on boards for like 20 + years or more (probably a wild exaggeration but it gets the point across), but make a real threat not one like going back to the Sabre.
