Bringing this over to this thread because it’s more relevant, but I think the critic’s view of the SAAC is that it operates as bit of cover for the NCAA to be able to say it’s taking student-athletes’ voices into account while it actively tries to influence it, like how this former SAAC member discusses her experience:
In that way, it’s not super surprising that the SAAC mirrored the NCAA’s preferred position on the portal window.
