Thatâs tuff!! We could use some more photos of people in gearâŚlet me know next time your doing a photo shoot like that.
Iâd like to find out exactly why that case was penalized and others arenât. Basically a process crime is my guess. They canât penalize the act of an attempted recruiting inducement right now but FSU went about in such a way that other rules were broken. Not much of a penalty anyway.
Just reading headlines but it looks similar to that Miami womenâs basketball thing. The violation was for taking them to meet Ruiz or something like that. Kind of an odd enforcement mechanism
Dumb thing to penalize. Weâre in a weird transitional place.
" The prospect, who was not named by the NCAA but was reported by The Associated Press to be Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims, removed his name from the transfer portal shortly after the meeting and remained at his previous school."
So they got penalized and didnât even get the prospect in question, well played (as usual) FSU!
Norvell is going to Bama because of crap like this.
NCAA rep: Iâm shocked, SHOCKED, Coach Norvell, that there is illicit recruit bribery going on in your football program!
Waiter at NCAA cafeteria: Here is your cut of this monthâs NIL payments, sir.
NCAA rep: err, thanks very much.

Depaul at less than $500k in NIL, and 6 schools in the Big East (per Goodmanâs source) are over $2 million.
We hear things like UVa is surprisingly good or surprisingly competitive or whatever, but where do folks think we are:
- Less than the $500k range
- In the $500k range
- In between $500k and $2mn, but closer to $500k
- In between $500k and $2mn, but closer to $2mn
- In the $2mn range
- Greater than the $2mn range
Well done handicapping those splits. You work in Vegas or something?
A) I donât buy that DePaul is the only school in the Big East below $500K (not exactly what was said I know). At 12 players, thatâs $41K per, which isnât bad considering DePaul players would have almost no legitimate NIL value. Iâm gonna guess Jeffâs source is someone at DePaul whoâs just pulling all that out his ass.
B) $2M is a lot. $166K average on a 12 man roster. You have to be buying dudes to get there. It takes the big paychecks to raise the average that much, because no collective base pay approaches that. Iâm again, doubtful there are 6 teams in the BE with that âpayrollâ. Maybe 3 or 4 though.
Yeah, shoulda added that Iâm highly skeptical of Goodmanâs numbers and of any NIL numbers.
But now that we have that out of the way ⌠whatâs our exact payroll?
Obviously I donât know exactlyâŚIâd feel good about taking the under side of a 1M if this was the price is right, although Iâd guess itâs not that far off. UVAâs base is comparatively high, and popular players have deals taking advantage of their legitimate name value. There just isnât the extra pay to play recruiting inducements that would be the only way to raise it much higher than that range without a real superstar name. At least at UVA. Some schools have the following to just pay them all 6 figures through the collective.
I was quickly correctedâŚItâs easily over $1M. The âbaseâ is considerably higher than I thought. âMaybe 10 to 20 schools higherâ
Can we pay NIL for kids to take preferred walk on spots if we are full on scholarship?
I know itâs legalâŚNo idea how UVA approaches NIL with walk ons as far as the collective and all that.
10-20 doing âlegitâ NIL, or would this include the pay-to-play schools too?
Maybe too spicy to answer, but if you had to ballpark the number of schools doing inducements
We have been pounded by Duke and Carolina for years and you are worried about walk ons? When will we pay to get Tonyâs first 5 star in the program?
Im talking about taking more than 13 scholarship players paying their tuition with NIL
What does this mean? Did I miss a ranking somewhere?
Edit: oh, so we would rank in the 11-21 range?
