So itās settled, lose to Duke. Lose to FSU in the ACC-T. Give Haney a heart attack in round 1. Win the natty.
Ohio Stateās bench:
How is Puff Johnson still in college?
Taison Chatman I thought was going to be legit when we recruited him out of HS. He still could be and should probably transfer back home to Minnesota for his remaining two - three years.
Also Gabe Cupps lol @DFresh11
Puff got a TRO after his medical redshirt got initially denied by the NCAA. The claim was that Penn State misdiagnosed his wrist injury and shouldnāt have cleared him to play in the games that put him over the medical RS threshold.
Thornton is awesome. Spots #2-5 in their rotation range from pretty good (Tilly, Mobley Jr) to fine (Royal, Bynum). After that youāre left trying to figure out where the good players have gone.
Yeah, Puff is in his 6th season of college basketball. One of the few with his COVID year left plus your aforementioned Redshirt year just granted. Heās only played in the last 5 games but can add size and 3-pt ability at the guard position for them. 2 years with UNC, 2 years with Penn State and 2 years Ohio State. Crazy! Just when you might think that all the COVID guys are gone, another one pops up.
Yeah, and losing Noel has really hurt their depth. Looks like Diebler is trying out Puff to fill some of those 20.6 Noel minutes lately. Puff had his best game last time out scoring 8 and racking up 4 fouls in 15 minutes.
Seems like if we can stop, or at least slow down Thornton and Mobley, we should be able to dominate. But OSU has come up just short against Illinois, Carolina, and Nebraska, so it is not a game to take lightly.
BTW, anyone know if they play a lot of zone? Iām getting pretty tired of watching us stall out against various zones.
We didnāt stall out against Syracuseās zone. We were picking it apart for a little bit there actually.
Youāre not wrong, though we did struggle some against them too. But it seems like itās more a function of the change of pace. When ND, for example, would switch into the zone, we seemed to not know what sort of dark magic we were facing. Weād then pass the ball around the perimeter without purpose while the shot clock ticked down.
Did the time for this game change at some point? I coulda sworn this was a noon or 2pm game on my gcal at one point. 8pm on Valentineās Day is diabolical.
Fortunately Kentucky has a big game against Florida so my better half should be reasonably understanding. Also just doing dinner at home because the special Valentineās menus are SCAMS.
I wonāt be able to watch as Iāll be at a wedding. Talk about a pro-move by the groom though combining future anniversaries with Valentineās Day.
Speaking of which, happy 10 year anniversary to the āGrayson walkedā for those dookies that celebrate. In a non-pro move I celebrated Valentines Day early that year with my then-fiance-now-wife thinking I was sly avoiding the V-day full restaurants - watched from the bar as she finished her meal alone.
Hey guys, Iām suddenly not able to access my VIP boards, even though been VIP for a couple years. I even bought a new subscription but it still doesnāt work. I emailed support but they have not replied and one of the emails (to spencer@) bounced. Anyone know who to reach out to to get support here? Iām really missing my VIP contentā¦

Lol not in any way affiliated with LRA outside being a UVA hoops addict
I am taking wife to Nashville, dinner, and then the game for valentineās. I think if I just throw a card in I should be good?
One of the great things about Dickie V. is his willingness to talk with fans without taking any disagreements personally. I was at the 1983 ACC Tournament, and after the game my friends and I caught up with Vitale courtside and he spoke to us for about 10 minutes why he didnāt think Sampson deserved Player of the Year (he voted for Jordan). Just the nicest, most accessible guy.
At the risk of seeming schizophrenic, I agree with this, too! My other personal experience with Vitale was when I was an undergrad at W&L. I was the radio play-by-play voice for Generals hoops, and my junior year Vitale visited campus on the same day we were playing Hampden-Sydney (and Russell Turner!) Vitale generously came on the air with us for 5 minutes or so, during the game, to talk hoop. Definitely a highlight for me.
