NBA Season '20-'21

Literally one year ago he had tough time putting 3 dribbles together on one drive. Look at me now Mamadi!

That one drop-step spin move was like <insert NBA All-Star player here>.

Braxton with 15 points and 4 boards at the half against the G League Ignite!

The G League experiment is really interesting. Because it hasn’t hurt Kumingas or Greens stock… but they haven’t exactly gotten great exposure either and I’m not sure they are benefitting development wise

Where do you guys watch all these G league games at? I’m missing out

ESPN and ESPN+ has been playing them nonstop during the day.

That’s an interesting point. I think the G-League experiment is a success in that it appear the players are regressing. They’re in a bubble and getting looked after/evaluated so any NBA scout has access to film and more. As far as development goes, I’m not sure that the typic 1 and done actually develops much of anything in their 5 months at a school, they basically leave the same player that came in just with more or less hype.

Meanwhile Mamadi, Ty, Kyle etc. Can show More than what they did here at Uva and still has the UVA winning records/ clutchness to fall back on and demonstrated in the league

Do not sleep on Braxton

No doubt. Brax does all those little things we’ve talked about on this thread that NBA teams look for in GLeague players. As long as he can prove he’s not a liability on offense, he could find himself a rotation spot in the League

Exactly- loving the continuous trend of his rebounds, steals, strength and defense. If he can shoot the ball then it’s a wrap! His rebounding was incredible the past 2 seasons.

Also his knack for scoring in the lane was pretty apparent at Alabama so he still has that instinct.

Here comes Mamadi to the League: https://twitter.com/eric_nehm/status/1367148215905222664?s=21

I wonder if the proposal to get rid of the game limit for 2-way players this year helped him out.
