Reece locks up Isaiah Stevens. Groves goes on a heater. Down goes Colorado St.

The Texas team that struggled against Louisville shows up. Kadin can’t handle the ready. Texas lack of outside shooting vs pack line. Down goes Texas.

Dalton Knecht. Meet Ryan Dunn. Reece locks up Ziegler. Rest of Tennessee can’t create it’s own shot. Down goes Tennessee. Tony gives Freddie Dilione and Cameron Carr the “get gud” shoulder tap in the handshake line.

Reece locks up Trey Alexander. McKneely Taine and Groves show Creighton who the real “Exciting Whites” are. Even Rohde joins in on the fun with a 1-3 from 3 shooting performance. Down goes Creighton. McKneely doesn’t even look Traudt in the eyes in the handshake line.

Dunn posterizes Edey. Purdue pulls a classic tight/overwhelmed team performance solidifying Matt Painter as Tony Bennett without the national title. Their guards can’t slow down McKneely and Reece. Down goes Purdue.

What will actually happen.

UVA goes down 21-12 to Colorado State, rallies and leads by 8 going into the last 3 minutes in which UVA proceeds to go 2-7 from the line. A dude averaging 24% from 3 on the season nails the half court buzzer beater to send it to overtime, in which Colorado State goes on a 24-2 run onslaught in OT to win it.

The UVA season ends and Tony build around Dante Harris at pg and Jonathan Buttigo from Missouri technical, a 6-7 forward with a 20 inch vertical averaging 15pts on moderate efficiency.

You’re missing the Harris to Buchanan buzzer beater a la Kihei to Diakite.

Is this related to the whole “BPI hates mountain teams and teams at elevation” thing?

Has ESPN ever released any data showing that the elevation factor makes sense? Or maybe K-Pop or Bart has posted about it? It’d be interesting to see. (But I also think it’s highly likely that the BPI guys overweighted it.)

MWC went 2-3 vs. the ACC this year, but never did a lower-rated MWC squad face a higher-rated ACC squad:

#2 Nevada beat #12 GT (neutral) by 8

#2 Boise St lost at #5 Clemson by 17 and lost to #8 VPI (neutral) by 7

#4 UNLV lost to #8 FSU (neutral) by 8

#6 Colo St beat #11 BC (neutral) by 12 and XXX [to] #3 Virginia (neutral) by YYY.

I think there was some stats chatter about this, or maybe I’m misremembering. Will check later

I don’t think so. If you want to put your tinfoil hat on, there’s also a take out there accusing BPI of systematically advantaging conferences with ESPN television contracts, which is some pure uncut message board stuff.

Yeah, I think I’m just remembering chatter. Never seen a defense of BPIs elevation thing or any real discussion on the merits. Just mostly MWC fans wondering what’s up

Kyle Guy likes us winning couple games. Probably what I’ll do in my bracket as well.

Was really hoping Auburn wasn’t going to end up on the same side of the bracket as UConn, that was my title game until they announced

Right. Norlander who said it is, “RiDIcuLous that Virginia got in.” Then on his CBS show giving his picks said, “Colorado State might have a chance against Texas, but Virginia has no chance.”

I usually like him, but not feeling very good about him this afternoon.

There’s really no reason for anyone to pick anyone in our situation when most did not include us in a bracket in the first place and now we are one of the last two teams in it would seem that we should be the underdog, according to most “experts”

at the same time, NCSU just beat duke, virginia, and unc back to back to back.

of the 3, the one game they didn’t win by just being the better* was us - they had to have us actually hand them the game with all different sorts of mistakes. we had them beat whereas duke and UNC couldn’t seem to do it. so to say we’d have “no chance” against an overall “meh” texas team feels like a bit much.

*(note - we can debate that because we didn’t make 1 of 4 free throws or know to foul, etc., i guess we weren’t “better”…)

“No chance” is ridic. Texas is a good, but not very good team. They lost 12 times including to WVU, UCF (at home), and K-State just days ago. They nearly lost to Lville on a neutral.

They are not very good. If you look at who they played and the outcomes they beat up on some bad teams and have 2 decent wins. Would love to play them.
